I'm probably jumping the gun a bit here, given that the Finals haven't taken place yet, but who you think are the standouts in the tournament so far?
I haven't seen all of the comp., but from what I have I would say the Mongolian Bantam Enkbhat (shame Rigondeaux isn't the Cuban he's facing) and the Ukrainian Feather Lomachenko. Any other standouts anyone else?

I think Lomachenko wins it, 20 years old, endless potential and skilful, will be very interesting to see how he handles the marauding Frenchman Djelkhir in the final, different style for him to cope with, see if he is as good as I think he is.
If he is, someone needs to get hold of this kid, I think he has the tools for the pro game already and can see him making a big splash.
See what you think.
Lunchtime Saturday the final approx 1230

Yeah what a stunning performance.
Djelkhir took the fight to him from the off and Lomachenko just rammed it back down his throat. Excellent young boxer who could quite easily make the switch to the pros and do big things.

At first when the frenchman came out and cracked him with a good combo, i thought what's all the fuss about, he's going to struggle here. Then he just shifts up a gear and gets Djelkhir out of their and makes it look easy. To take someone out in an olympic final like that is umbelievable and unheard of at that level.

Lomachenko deservedly wins it. Terrific little boxer.
I heard Jim Neilly say that it's no longer called the Val Barker trophy.

He was fantastic, wonder if he will go pro?? If he does I would watch out for him, he has a nice pro style, can change between tactics and punches like a bar steward..
Best guy by far

Although i do agree that Lomachenko is a great prospect, and one of the best at the olympics, but after todays final i thought that Roberto Cammarelle was unlucky not to get the trophy, he was in complete command of every second in each of his fights.
Anyway Lomachenko looks a sure fire hit in the pro's. Anyone know if Cammarelle is going pro?

Another name worth throwing out there is Tischenko first two weight Olympic Champion in something like thirty years. Still only 24. I'd love to see him gpro too.

Amazing achievement by Tischenko as he he appeared so much smaller than his opponents. I didn't think he would make it to the final in all honesty. He also got involved in messy fights but was willing to trade-in the wide stance counterpunching into combinations. It wasn't pretty but he got it done - the miserable ginger fecker.

I really liked the directness of the Super-Heavy winner, Cammarelle. Just utterly confident, aggressive and threw good, solid shots I'd say he would be a solid professional.
He won gold without taking a backward step.
