Does anyone know the real name behind the Melbourne based boxer.

I am researching my family history, and have been told that Charlie Ring is my grandfather; however I cannot find any reference to his real name to verify this. From Birth certificates, I have a name and confirmation of his profession as a boxer.

Any info would be gratefully received
