He's a terrible ref, from the Manfredo stoppage to Khan last night.

Ridiculous.

I'd probably have more faith in Griffin.

He can't score fights either. Look at his 114-115 on the Arthur fight. What was he doing? Watching Family Guy?

I would love to hear his justification for letting Khan, who couldn't even stand still in one spot his legs were so rubberised, walk back into a barrage of punches against a guy who decked him with the first shot he landed.

Absolutely disgusting refereeing, and agreed, his scoring of the Arthur fight was pretty shocking. Arthur lost the first three outright, and did little or nothing the last three rounds. So that is six rounds to Cook straight away so how can Arthur have lost by only one round?

He was hoping Khan could come back as he did before in other fights, but you could see Khan was finished. I dont think he wanted to contribute to Khans first loss so he let it go on. He wouldnt have been very popular if he had stopped it. Khan and others would have said he was OK and ready to turn the fight around.

It is not the referee's job to be popular, or support a fighters career.

Yup, fighter's safety must come first, end of.

He should be suspended. It would send out a message. When you compare the Manfredo and Khan stoppages he's guilty as charged.

Alas this is all too common in British rings. All this 'you have to knock them out to get a draw' in Italy and Germany hocus applies just as much in the UK.

It was the first round, so it's ok

And worst of all.... the fatty blocked the view of Frank's face when Khan went tumbling.

If O'Connor had stopped it after the first knockdown, every member of the Khan camp would have been screaming blue murder, so I am least grateful we don't have to listen such rubbish from Team Khan.

O'Connor has some made some poor calls in his time and this one was no exception.

I agree entirely but these thoughts must have gone through his mind.

The fight should've been waved off after that second hook exploded on Khan's chops. It was actually futile counting because Khan was never ever going to stand up, and if he did, his legs would've buckled under his won weight anyways. I feel sorry for him as he is a nice kid, but that chin is ridiculous. Now imagine if Pacquiao was standing in the other corner instead of Prescott - I imagine there would be a "RIP Amir Khan" thread knocking around instead of this one. Back to fighting featherweights.

Actually would like to see Warren's reaction..... when can was all over the place he was talking quite cooly to his mate who is always next to him.

Khan was never gonna be stopped on his feet, especially after the fact he visits the canvas during every fight.

Imagine the debate surrounding the fight if he had done, from the pro-Khan brigade.

I think he did everyone a favour by letting the fight conclude itself.

I agree although i'm not sure of too many other fighters in the world who would have received the full 10 count on the second knockdown as Amir was. If he had somehow got to his feet i'm sure he would have been sent out again.

I think you're right Lenny, he would've been allowed to carry on. Quite how that would've served Khan's best interests is beyond me.

A man's future well being should take precedent over the short term wishes of a promoter and the brittle ego of a referee.
