Ive been given tickets to the Haye fight in November by my partner who works at the 02 arena, I'm looking forward to it but I'm interested in who his opponent is going to be Ive heard Rahman and also heard Tua, any truth in these or just rumours ? also anyone know the undercard ? Any information is appreciated.

From what Rahman and his manager have said, I don't think it will be him. Maybe it will be Maskaev?

Oleg Maskaev won his comeback fight against Robert Hawkins.

Good fight for the rankings I think, Id imagine that could put him right up there with the WBC.

I dunno any top 10 HW that fights every 2 months. Especially one that should be thinking of Ralgex and Ovaltine.

Maskaev has never feared a challenge.

I wouldn't back against it if the price is right. A week off and then back to tuning up.

Maskaev would remain a dangerous opponent for Haye especially having done 10 rounds to knock the rust off.

Golota wouldnt be bad, the right height for Haye to get used to aswell

I thought he looked poop against Peter. I was expecting more (escpeailly considering the McCline performance). Perhaps I set the bar too high.

His contract with Setanta says he has to fight a top 10 opponent and he's let that be widely known. so surely a top 10 ranked fighter ( yer I know theirs a fair few top tenners about) could hold him to ransom on that fact? In the sense he has now obliged himself to bring a "name" over here.

I reckon it will be Maskaev, or he will have to pay for Rahman. I would definitely say it's one of those though.

There ain't even that many names in the division nowadays.

If he hadn't just fought, I'd say John Ruiz might have been a contender - no great pop, would get tagged coming in. Otherwise, you wonder whether it might not be a left field choice like James Toney or Monte Barratt.

You're right.

I'm just looking at it from my own selfish perspective as Haye is one of the few fighters that I get excited about watching these days.

I'm dying to see if he can dismantle the HW's - either way, it's going to be exciting when he starts.

Anybody think he will fight Tony Thompson and try to finish him quicker than wlad did ?
