I've just read this in Boxing Monthly and am moved to comment on his assertion that Haye isn't the better fighter and he won because Enzo made mistakes.

Now, I understand the psychology here - by placing the fault within your own control it means you can do something about it and maintain your self-confidence - however, isn't it true that one of the reasons Haye is the better fighter is that in the biggest profile fight of his life he didn't make those mistakes? It's all part of the package and you can't isolate one fatal flaw and say that if you took that away then you would be the better fighter.

Losing don't mean he is unpopular.

Up until that fight, he seemed like a gutsy grafter, who despite not being gifted in anyway certainly had the arsenal and determination to do battle with anyone in the division.

Now he has started the psychology on the whole situation it would seem...

...leave it out, admit the better man won and that who knows, if a trip to Heavyweight appears in the future that maybe he can vindicate himself, otherwise move on and concentrate on the next man.

I think if Haye had been weight drained, wasnt so fast, didnt have the skills, and didnt hit so hard. Enzo could have won that fight. :P :P :P

yeah haha or if Haye but 10 grand on himself losing and came into the ring wanting to lose i think Enzo could have won. DD DD DD

Even then I think it would be a KO loss for Enzo.

In fairness to Enzo he may be saying stuff like that to build his man up. Behind closed doors I have no problem with that, as long as it is part of a bigger strategy that includes recognising and dealing with his weaknesses. I just think that in public people should maintain a dignified silence (with regards to excuses) and answer any critics with their performances in the ring.
