Mundine to fight in Perth

Post by amwsnw »

The Sunday Times (Perth based newspaper) is reporting Mundine is looking at a fight in Perth. Appears Boxa and Green Machine Promotions are in talks and Mundine wants to fight an as yet unnamed opponent in Perth in November. It seems to be a stunt to entice Danny Green to make a decision one way or the other as to whether or not he will step back in the ring. The article can be read on Perthnow.com. Will be intersting to see how ticket sales go for a Mundine headliner in Perth..

Yeah I agree Ben. I live in the north of the state, but if it is a worthy opponent (highly unlikely) I will consider travelling to Perth. You have no doubt read the article, I would say it is only a matter of time 'til Green v Mundine 2 is signed..

if they do sign, the only thing that matters is what weight it will be fought at.

obviously it will be fought at middleweight. thats the whole reason mundine couldnt fight kessler becoz he said he felt better when he has less weight on him. and theres no way mundine was using that as an excuse so as not to defend against kessler

inkin
allan green
balzsay

andre ward?

those 3 SMW's have nothing lined up, but khoder isnt gonna go for those guys. for starters inkin has never fought outside of europe so i dont know whether he'd come down here...balzsay hasnt either so not sure about him either.

what about john duddy at MW?that would be awesome

even call ndou's bluff and see if he can get up to MW?

of course this is all fantasy...its gonna be an argentinian electrician

If we know the Mundine marketing machine, he'll fight in Perth and at the end of another easy hand picked fight Green will get up in the ring (all nice and staged) and they'll fire up the rivalry and get the press machine into action. They'll then fight in a Perth Sellout! I really wonder about the weight they will fight at though as Green has publicly stated he felt better and looked better at light heavy - 79kg and Mundine is trying to get to middleweight 72.5K - they'll probably meet at 76 again....I wonder how much Green is struggling between his desire (which led to retirement) and the coin (large amount of!).

plus if you saw the interview with greens wife at the fenech nelson fight it seems she wears the trousers in that relationship and she wants danny to come back and have 3 more fights...she's an attractive woman, just so long as she keeps her mouth shut.

well if fight does happen between green and mundane then if its not at LHW then i wont watch.whats the point. an older weight drained green taking on mundine. if he hasnt kod him in 1 then game over. whatever the talk if it doesnt start happening for real soon including a tune up fight or 2 for green then i DEFINITELY wont be watching.
