Seen him today at the gym, warming down. He said he would 'go tomorrow' if they wanted to fight sooner.

He was in outrageous shape. I took a couple of photos and a clip.

December is a way off yet. Do you have the photos and video online?

Outrageous ?
What do you mean ?
Hitting a peak 8 weeks in advance ain't good.
Come back and say this on the week ending 16-11-08 and I'll be delighted.

Don't worry Tewenty Six - Weight is only one factor of many, during a fighter's camp. Sparring, stamina, timing, mindset.

Anyway It's only a clip off my phone, but he is ripped.

We chatted about the coward briefly (Inkin) before i spoilt last night's fight results which he'd recorded but not watched yet.

He looks in great shape. It is strange that he's so low already. Does he usually weigh around 170 a couple of months before a fight?

He's looking in excellent nick! Lets pray for an injury-free camp

Gomez,
I've seen many many camps close up over the years, but thanks for putting my mind at ease.
I've seen many many camps where boxers peak to early and leave their best work in the gym.
Hopefully that doesn't apply to Froch.

Did he weigh himself in front of you, or did he tell you he was 170??..........

Just what he told me Khasai mate.

He didn't look fat whatsoever, all sinew.

Surely better to keep fit than to do things the Hatton way. Drastically losing weight is not good for the body. Obviously with so much time left the training shouldnt be too intense but light training is good IMO. Fair play to Froch for wanting to keep his body in peak condition. Never known to miss the chance of telling us how great he is, he even does so on GOmezs video phone recording. I just wish I could find the man more likeable. Christ if he becomes a star on ITV winning the title, his already huge ego will be unbearable. Self praise is not good to listen to.

He's alright mate, he just loves the wind up. This is the guy who's idol is Latrelle from White Chicks.

When Mayweather was at Light-welter he used to start camp weighing 10st. That way instead of focusing on shifting weight the camp can be used to improve technique, timing etc. Good sign for Froch that he's at 170lbs IMO. :TU: Though I understand twenty-six's concerns - overtraining is also a big problem in boxing.

He does. He naturally walks around at just over 12 stone.

I asked Rob McCracken if thats the case, why not boil Carl down to middleweight and he said that Carl wouldnt be the same fighter if they tried to get him down to middleweight

McCracken said that because Carl is naturally so lean he believes this is one of the main reasons that Carl has been so injury-prone

I know I should get out more but to be honest I had never heard of White Chicks. Anyway I went to Wiki and now I know it is one of the worst films of 2004. Is he alright underneath all the bragging? What is the purpose of getting people to believe he is arrogant if that isnt the way he really is. Surely he would gain more fans being more humble. For fighters like Ali it was pure hype and fun. You could see he was just clowning around and people loved it. Mr Froch seems to me to believe he is Gods gift to boxing just as Naz used to do. I would love to count myself as a fan, after all I live in the East Midlands too. He also fights Naz Style holding his arm low inviting his opponent in. I just dont think you can get away with that at World level but time will tell. To me its another form of showboating and I dont like it.

Thanks for the answer, Liam. There's obviously nothing to worry about then. I'm sure Froch is relishing the thought of this fight. Hopefully he'll take not to peak too soon.

He usually carries round a pair of hillbilly teeth in his coat pocket and when 'cool' people strut up for a photo he pops them in without the person realising.

I can definitely see what you mean by the press releases and stuff how your opinion has been formed and i suppose thats the downside a bit with it all. Maybe when the success is realised, there is no longer a requirement for the 'big sell' anymore.

GOmez -Hillybilly teeth LOL    Love to see that. Perhaps you could get him to do it and maybe we could all see the other side of his nature. Just a suggestion when he fights in Nottingham, how about ring card girls dressed as Maid Marion, with Carl entering the ring as Robin, Hmmm perhaps thats going just a bit too far. Still it would further identify him with the city he loves.

I think that's a great idea. Whatever they can do to make the show more entertaining and get people talking.

It's all just self promotion and not to be taken too seriously IMO. Most of Carls 'hypng himself' seems tongue in cheek to me.

Personally, I love abit of arrogance, but I'm from the Liam Gallagher era

IIR, Didnt Enzo Mac say he walked around at Cruiser? I know what happened to him, but its not impossible that Froch keeps in shape between fights and thus never has much to lose. the only thing possibly wrong with it is that if that is 170 without losing any water, then come fight night the oppo might be re-hydrating up to 180 or something?

The self oppinionated approach is not my cup of tea, but each to their own.
That said, it sells tickets as much as success.
Maybe we'll find people paying to see Froch defend his title (should he prevail) hoping he gets put on his arse.
Made Naz a few million .....

But thats the jelly mate, ENTERTAIN ME - i'm not getting into the ring, but i want entertainment. Joe Cal would be a multi gazzilionaire by now, up with the likes of beckham, if he opened his gob a bit during the 'fw years'.

Froch will make Naz-like money in half the time Joe did.
