According to the Daily Mirror Amir Khan is set to return on December 13 in London, possibly against the unbeaten Walsall based fighter Martin Gethin.
The former Olympic silver medalist was destroyed inside a minute by Colombian puncher Breidis Prescott on September 6 and given the chance Gethin believes he will do the same.
"If I were given the chance to go in against Khan, I would jump at it," said Gethin.
"There’s no point in avoiding people.
"This could be a good time to take him on. We know that he has a weak chin and can be stopped."
The 24 year-old Gethin has a record of 15 wins, seven by tko. Last time out he impressed in stopping the previously undefeated John Fewkes inside four rounds to win the vacant English lightweight title.
Khan’s next fight has reportedly been moved back to December 13 from Dec 6 to accomadate Khan’s new trainer Freddie Roach, who will be looking after Manny Pacquiao when he faces Oscar De La Hoya i in Las Vegas.

Also, a few words from Roach on Khan:
http://www.maxboxing.com/Kim/Kim092908.asp
Asked about his newest pupil, Amir Khan, who was recently KO'd in less than a minute, Roach says, "He's a talented guy, he's a good boxer and in that fight he just got caught. He had very strange methods of training, though, going up to the fight. Six hours before the fight, an hour long workout of conditioning, get the blood flowing, lifting weights and throwing balls. Just unbelievable stuff that he told me that his strength coach, who was a rugby coach, had him doing. I've never heard of it before. The thing is, he got clipped. Does he have a chin? Well, we're going to work on that. We gotta get him back to his boxing style and not let him get hit. We'll see."

Im sure this thead will be filled with boxrec's finest in due time, laughing away at this JOKE of a fight, but before that happens, i will say that this is a decent comeback fight if it happenes.
Not PPV decent, but a good SKYSports1 main event

I've started a club, I'm the only member and I know it will stay that way. But I think Banks will beat Enzo.

If he fights like last time he'll bore Enzo to death.

Gethin-Khan is a cracking fight and exactly the type of learning fight Khan needs (unless he gets KFTO, which I deffo wouldn't rule out against gethin), I hope something comes of it.
Looks like Frank didn't fancy going up against the Mick Hennessys Carl Froch show, I wonder if Mick targetted December 6th as he knew Warren had a bill on the same night

Intresting Match up to say the least. Khan needs to put his head down now, and focus.

I wouldn't be remotely surprised if Enzo has fought for the last time for Wazza.
I don't see the Banks fight happening now.
Enzo is stuck in a rock / hard place right between the Calzaghe / Wazza fiasco.

Thankfully some words of wisdom from Freddie, I think alot of us said the same when that mini piece about Khan's training aired before one of his fights.

twodice said that Calzaghe is trying to entice Macca to him (now that Joe's got his promoters license). Interesting stuff.
If Khan does actually fight Martin Gethin in December I will be very impressed. Gethin's currently rated as the
3rd best Lightweight in the UK and, I think, has surprised a lot of people by winning his last two fights. Not to mention the fact that he's unbeaten, has only fought at Lightweight & above and he has a KO record of over 40%. It's a good fight and I hope it get made. I'm not holding my breath though.

jesus christ, do your posts ever contain anything but complaints about other people and their contributions?
I think this is too much of a risky fight for khan personally.

Good fight, this. Gethin is coming off two excellent wins, and I hope he gets another one. This is what we need, good fights between British lightweights.
Khan had problems with a well past it Gomez. I hope the fresh (but much less experienced than Gomez) Gethin gets another big win.
Gethin's fought two slick, fragile fighters in the past 2 fights so those are as good a warmup as you can have. Good luck to the bloke. Khan is very mobile and apparently Gethin's promoter gets on at him for starting slowly and having quiet spells. So it could all go wrong for him. But Khan can be hurt badly to head & body.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves though. What if Khan fight some small or old guy instead? You never know.

I'd be a little bit surprised if Khan fought Gethin. Gethin would be a good come back fight for Amir Khan. I was expecting Fewkes. The guy who Gethin beat. With that said. I wont be paying for the PPV though.
If Khan gets beat by Gethin. There’s no coming back for Amir Khan.

I think if some of us are cynical, we've been conditioned to be.
If the name Gethin gets thrown around, does that mean Gethin? Or is it just some smokescreen for Fewkes, Dave Stewart (good, but inactive) etc.

Wouldn't say Gethin is #3 in Britain though. I'd have him at #4. Thaxton, Khan and Murray should occupy the top 3.

I'd have limond at #4 and possibly Stewart still ahead of Gethin.
