i dont know if this is of interest to anyone but...
i read that Sir John Sebright (1767-1846) provided the grounds upon which John gully and bob gregson had their return bout for the championship of england (bareknuckle). Sebright was a world reknown bird breeder who inspired Charles Darwin, who cited Sebright's bantam breeding. theres a direct link between boxing and the word bantam here...maybe
