He looked vunerable in the opening round and that elbow would have hurt like hell. The second round was simply amazing, Gamboa threw everything and looked brilliant. He is no Mayweather when it comes to defence though, that will have to improve if he is going to be a world champ. I hope he moves up to lightweight at some point as some of the potential fights there are crackers

I don't think he's going to have the longest career, but will be fun whilst it lasts.

Down again, eh? Looks like they still didn't bother to learn defence. Very talented, a future world champ. But he'll go down like a headless chicken when the wrong guy lands on him.

Crushing win over a decent-looking dude, but he deffo looks like he is going to get chinned at some point, isn't he? I felt myself saying to Ramirez, "Jab, jab, back up, time him, time him" & then the dude decided to trade.

Everyone on the Current Scene is saying that he took a "shot behind the head then an elbow"; I caught the elbow on the replay (you know what I mean) but I thought a left hook to the chin is what sent him stumbling face-forward, which is what led to him walking into the elbow as Ramirez missed a right cross & Gamboa tried to hang on. Hard to tell from Youtube, though isn't it?

Again: I really like vulnerable punchers, so I shall follow his career with interest.

The count (at least from 9 to 10) was a bit quick! Gamboa's very exciting though. Mega-fight down the line: either Gamboa-Jorge Linares or Gamboa-Juan Manuel Lopez.

Bit Khan esque in that respect, down twice already although granted didnt look in trouble on either occassion. Very talented, but rushes too much and is quite stumbly.

Prescott gamboa anyone?

Reminds me more of Terry Norris. Athletic guy, looks very skilled and with a terrific range of punches. Lack of defence likely to be his undoing, but like others here have said it's going to be exciting.

Think this fight was featherweight, which at the moment doesn't have any marquee names.

Gamboa=5'5 featherweight
Prescott=6'0 lightweight

Although I wouldnt discount Gamboa winning its a big leap to make

With Gamboa's dimensions he's never gonna be as big as Mayweather, but I'd go and see him fight Juan Ma at a 124 pound catchweight. :oo

Good win for Angulo, too. Lol at Lampley's over-reaction.

Other foreign action over the weekend:

Juan Manuel López defending his WBO super bantamweight title against César Figueroa

(Warning - spolier in video title)

Ramirez is a real talent, but I really hope they get someone to sort his reckless defence out
( Rubio? ho ho ) ASAP, otherwise they could ruin the career of a future star.

Lopez looks to be the next Trinidad, but the commentators were a little overblown in their astonishment of his KO over a guy who'd been knocked out 4 times previously. His title winning KO was as good as it gets though.

Yeah when watching Lopez i thought of Gerald McClellen style wise.
Hope that Lopez can get someone to take him a few rounds soon, if he keeps getting these easy early blow outs then he might get shock when someone does take him to the later rounds.
