James DeGale: The £2 million dollar man?

I recently read in an interview with James DeGale that he is considering turning professional to "pay the bills" and because that he believes that he has reached "the pinacle of amateur boxing", upon becoming Olympic champion...
I agree with DeGale that becoming an Olympic Champion is a fantastic achievement (which should not be played down) but I believe that there are other things at this level which should interest him... For example, what about waiting to challenge for the World Amateur title?
The truth is (as I see it), DeGale wants to cash in rightaway on his recent success... He has seen the currency that Harrison and Khan have made since turning professional and the Limelight that comes with it...
HOWEVER, it is said that DeGale is wanting £2 million to sign professional... Because rumour has it that Kahn became a millioniare over night upon stepping up, and DeGale believes that £2 million is the right price for an Olympic Champion.
I read yesterday, in allegedly's column in THE SUN Newspaper that he (and Hennessy) have made "substantial" offers to DeGale, but that he has rejected them and is holding out for his wanted fee...
Despite this, Warren said that DeGale would struggle to reach it, even in the United States and added (bitterly) that he thought that DeGale would NOT be a succesful professional boxer because of his style.
Thoughts on this please.
