Is Enzo Calzaghe beyond help?

"Klitschko, Worst Champion I've Ever Seen"
Enzo Calzaghe, trainer of Joe Calzaghe and other UK fighters, has taken a hefty swing an WBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, calling him the worst heavyweight champion that he ever saw. He says that David Haye beating Klitschko would not be an impressive accomplishment. And went as far as to say that he could beef up his son Joe, who would probably beat Klitschko.
"Anyone can be successful at heavyweight right now. I could fatten up Joe to 17 and a half stone and he would win the title. Wladimir Klitschko is the worst heavyweight champion I have seen in my life. He's worse than Primo Carnera. I don't know him personally but as a boxer he does nothing for me at all," Calzaghe told The Ring.
Hee doesn't believe that Haye, who knocked out Calzaghe fighter Enzo Maccarinelli in the eary part of year, will be a force at heavyweight, but also feels that it's so bad at the weight that anything is possble.
"Haye has not convinced me however. He didn't spark out Enzo, so where are the massive punches going to come from? There is a lot of dead squid in the heavyweight division, so maybe he can be competitive, but he isn't going to be the saviour of the heavyweight division, not in my opinion," Calzaghe said.
Is this guy fcuking sure or what?
I'm expecting Peter Kay to come out from nowhere any minute! Utter madness, ludicrous talk! Enzo, you do yourself no favours by making these thoughts pulically known. Having these views is one thing, actually telling people is another matter!
Whoever interviewed Enzo must have had a laugh because if it was me I wouldn't have been able to keep a straight face!

I agree with him on the Klitschko point.
Really. Vlad and Vitaly are two of the worst champions I've seen. Actually, the worst.

Enzo is becoming more and more of a laughing stock everytime he opens his trap, I really hope RJJ sparks Joe out and puts an end to this clowns rantings immediately.
Klitschkos the worst heavyweight champions?
What about Seldon, Thomas, Berbick, Bruno?

Yep, those too.

I'd take Berbick, Bruno and Morrison -- maybe -- to run the Klitschkos close.
That being said, Frank Bruno was a champion, but never considered the best. Ditto most of the rest on that list.
The Klitschkos are, and I would guess that's what he's on about.
While I agree with his assessment of the Ukrainians, when it comes to Enzo Mac, Enzo Cal is like an Egyptian fish.

Bruno v Vitaly Klitschko would have been fascinating.

Lol I seen Des Lynam ask Joe on Setanta about the heavyweight division a few months back. He replied that he would fancy his chances against someone like John Ruiz, but not Wladimir Klitschko because he's a big guy. Tbh I don't think Enzo even realises how much BS he is speaking sometimes

It's always fascinating seeing Bruno run out of gas, and take a pummeling with his back to the ropes, as the ref steps in to save him.

Bruno certainly had the power to stop Wlad, but he also could have been stopped. Both men are pretty robotic movers, Bruno might have struggled with the size difference, as I think he was pretty much always the bigger man in fights.
Both became quite gunshy after getting stopped, and both could be quite hesitant, but Bruno's jab was far more consistent. Interesting fight all round.
Vitali maybe a bit too tough for Bruno and a bit more of a natural fighter than his brother.

Its very interesting how that a lot of the more stupid posters on here still dont seem to understand that interviews such as this are all part of the entertainment aspect of boxing, not a fornicating sworn oath of truth.
Does Enzo really reckon Joe could beat the Klitz?
Or is he, as the father of the promoter, trying to sell tickets?
ummmmm

Vitali would have smashed Bruno into pieces.
Either Klitschko would give Calzaghe a boxing lesson.
"Haye has not convinced me however. He didn't spark out Enzo, so where are the massive punches going to come from?
At least this guy is funnier than Lenny Henry.

Actually Enzo isnt saying much more than you lot. He doesnt rate the brothers Klitscho or the HW division right now, which is fair comment, although I have to say I think Vitali is pretty good and I give Haye no chance of beating him. Enzo doesnt think Haye is going to be the undisputed HW champ and doesnt think he has the power to stop the really big guys, again thats his opinion, and not just his, others think the same. As for fattening up Joe to 17 stone, its just a joke. Going back to the 90s we used to say you could put your grannie in a Williams and she would win races. Its the same thing, an exaggeration and a bit of fun, nothing more. Enzo M was stopped by Haye, both Enzos know that, but Enzo C points out Haye didnt spark Maccrenelli and thinks he lacks the power of the big heavies. The thread creator is suggesting Enzo is a crackpot and most of you have bought it by jumping on the bandwagon saying more or less the same. Enzo is a bit of a showman, a real character, has his opinions and voices them. Another thing is, he is bound to be misquoted at times, because most of us cant understand what he is saying.

I used to put sick quid of petrol in my car, but now I have to spend £30 for the same amount. Dead quid, not sure about that one. Maybe its new boxing terminology in the making. On the other hand Enzo does tend to speak in another language to the rest of us.

This, is the entire point
Boxing is part of entertainment, Enzo knows his role, and plays up to it pretty well
It takes a special type of cretin to read what an Enzo, Hatton, Mayweather et al say in interviews and take word 1 of it seriously and get all worked up about it.

What, even the comments about Haye vs Enzo ?
He (calzaghe senile) took that loss personally and his utter disgust with Maccaroni in the post-fight interview shone through.
I can only imagine what big Enzo felt like at that moment, having been flattened by Haye in front of a 20,000-strong crowd, to then be scolded by his trainer in front of several million TV viewers.
trust me trust me trust me !
