Do you guys see any more records in sport that are more secure than this?

Following all the broken records in Beijing, its obvious that athletics and swimming can be taken to the next level.

I'm convinced that there will never be a younger Heavyweight champion.

Your thoughts???

I don't think so, Tyson was a freak to have such man strength in his teen years. The heavyweight devision is worst now, but nower days the 17/18 year old will be trying to make it in Basketball.

Depends also if you mean a undisputed champion or one version of the title.

Even just a title would be credible enough.

It will be beaten, probably by an east europeon boxer,

the record i always associate with Patterson is that fella Rademacher who challenged him for the title in his first pro fight....

His record is safe i think, however henri richard's record is safer.

The guy won 11 stanley cups.

What about "Bible of Boxing" Benitez winning the welterweight title at, like, 18, or something?

Wasn't Amir Khan going to break that record.

Actually, the increasing age of heavyweights suggests to me that Tyson's record is more, not less, likely to be broken. The ability of 87 year olds to compete at the top suggests that if a youngster with real talent comes along, he would have to ripe plums to pick.

Did you notice there that Moore's last fight was against the Million Dollar Man's dad? Wow, what a bit of trivia.

My ex-boss, who used to cover boxing in the 80s and 90s for Today told me once that some dude tried to mug Moore in a gas station when the Mongoose was already in his late 70s. Apparently Moore sparked him. Not sure about the truth of that story, but it sure is a nice thought.

Not in this day of fat mediocre 'prospects' having a perfect 30-0 record crafted for them before losing their first test.

Tysons record is safe as houses.

With the state of HW Boxing today, it looks like it won't happen anytime soon.

However that said, if a Young Half-good HW Does come, it won't be that difficult for him to take atleast one belt, with it being a dead HW Division and all..

Mike Tyson had 28 fights in his first 20 months as a pro and that is including his WBC win over Berbick, that is unthinkable these days. Most prospects now only average 8 fights per year for the first couple of years.

diepnds on how you view it average joe-public will say anyone is a world champion wether they hold the ring blet, wbc, ibo, ubc, wbf etc, i think there will be a titlist younger than tyson quite easily but an undisputed champion no way

If by chance, theres a Kid out there and gets the same Backing as Tyson and Money spent on His development qiute possibly, it can be done.

It will be beaten, but probably by days or months. I'll be a an old man, though.

To say Tyson was kept busy on his way to challenging for the title is an understatement. Mike would sometimes be boxing twice a month. Danny Williams is scheduled to have two fights in quick succession & its now a big thing!

Such was Tyson's dedication to the sport back then, I think he could have been even more active than he actually was! Even though he was quite busy during his reign as champion, he probably was not as active as he would have liked.

I reckon this guy's record is pretty safe, 19 straight 1st round KO's. In his 20th fight he ended up drawing with a guy who had lost his last 4 fights and been stopped 5 times before. He must have been having an off day

Brunson's draw was shown on the fight network. I think it was the undercard of Darren Barker when he fought in Canada. Brunson looked okay in the first then completely gassed. Before the fight he was calling out Margarito
