Word is that Meehan will be fighting Valuev for the WBA title on January 26 next year. Anything else would have to wait.

I cannot make the link but the story on Sportsnut was that they would be fighting in Sydney on Australia day.

lucky you didn't post this in the current scene. People would have had Haye winning by KO prior to the fight actually starting by the fifth post. Remember Haye will be defending his HW crown in 4 fights time according to his fans (and him). Going by that Kali doesn't stand a chance :o

Haye was ahead in the fifth against Carl Thomson in 2004 when Thomson lowered the boom. Hay down twice then his corner skied the towel with him out on his feet.

I honestly think Meehan would only have to land one good punch to finish it.

if kali can flatten true heavies, which he has proven he can (williamson springs to mind), then the questionable jaw of Haye would be severely tested.

Exactly, he has proven one punch power and Haye has a questionable chin, that is not a good mix for the man moving up in weight.

i like kali, but haye would flatten him, his to slow at 37, tho he still can pack a punch.
haye will be quicker than most HW's and will probably gain more power when he puts on an exta few kegs of muscle

it takes alot of kegs to put kali flat on his back. he never actually went down in his losses to rahman and williams.

good point buster. looking at his record okhello is the only KD for Kali, who he KOed later in the fight, Okhello is a tough SOB, no question.

It's not as funny as you think Adam. Meehan is better than Thompson, he hits harder than Thompson and Mocormeck. And both of these to have either beaten or dropped Haye. Haye at the moment is just hot air until he actually beats someone decent at Heavyweight. Its one thing to talk crap but he needs to back it up.

I don't think Haye's chin is THAT weak. He took a few flush shots from Macarinelli in their brief encounter.

Maccrineli isnt a heavyweight, Meehan is 6'5 230 pounds and can hit so its not comparable.

his chin has been questioned before and he has failed. a HW hitter like Kali will send him back to CW.

do u think haye has a better or worse chin than lennox?...could lewis went to sleep (twice) from one flush shot.

id say their chins are comparable, but haye is much faster and more athletic than LL.

Its isnt the same though Adam, Lewis was dropped by big punching Heavyweights. Haye was dropped by Cruiser weights.
Id say Lennox would take shots from Thompson and Mcormack without going down.
I said the fight is a 50/50 and i stand by that as i havnt seen Haye fight a legitimate Heavyweight. Its one thing to look good at Cruiser and another to beat legitimate Heavyweights.

Dont get me wrong i would love for Haye to really make some noise at heavy as its a little dull at the moment but im not sold on him yet. :TU:
