He was a good British level boxer, looking at his record i forgot he challenged Tim Austin for the IBF title, in fact Paul is probably remembered for his losses more than his wins.
Barrera just detroyed him in a round, it was the fight you would show someone to demonstrate the difference between domestic and world class.

Yeah, good fighter. Licked a LOT of good bantamweights en route to the 1990 ABA final, where he destroyed Patrick Mullings in two. Sadly, it was a night when one knew the BBC were not going to hang on to Rod Douglas as a ring analyst. "Lloyd is tall for a bantamweight, isn't he?" asked Harry Carpenter.
"Yes," said Rod. "Well, he's taller than the other fella'".

His win over Nathan Sting i remember, which was in the middle of his best run. Took Sting apart with body shots.
Think a couple of his losses were down to cuts, which he did have a problem with.

I bumped into him in a hotel bar in Wales a few years back, where he'd been staying for awhile. He was part of a crew working on the rail lines. Had a slightly crazed look about him TBH, but think he was on the whiskeys that night.
Really got thrown to the wolves in the end, he looked like been 15 rounds after one round with Barrera. Hope he got paid well, but doubt it somehow.

Cracking domestic level boxer who featured in so many entertaining fights.
His belter with Richie Wenton was mental. NUTS have been showing this one recently. Well, well worth watching.

The Wenton one was a good fight, i think that paul decked Wenton in one of the rounds but it wasn't counted a knockdown.
I always remember it looked a mad atmosphere.
