Rate Hatton's chances of beating De La Hoya!

Assuming both Hatton and De La Hoya come through their next fights, which is like'ly, then all the talk is that they will fight each other in a mega blockbuster at Wembly.

Obviously, a lot depends on their performances against Malignaggi/Paqiuo, but i'd like to get an early assessment of just what kind of chance people think Hatton has of beating De La Hoya and also to read others opinions on wether they think a fight with De La Hoya is a wise move from Hatton or not.

Personally, i think he'd get slaughtered. Its not a fight i want him to take, its totally uneccessary in my opinion and i think if he does take the fight it will be for all the wrong reasons. I think it would prove to be a brutal ending to what was a very successful career! My fingers are crossed that he does not take this fight, but listening to him on 'Hatton Speaks' the other night, thats just what he's planning to do!

If I were Hatton I'd be targeting all those big named lightweights... he knows he's not as effective up at welter but can't resist the lure of the big names. I think its to early to tell what sort of fight you'd get out of De La Hoya and Hatton right now, especially they both have there hands full right now. But obviously as long as Oscar can still make 147 without to much bother he'd be strong favourite. Hattons always gonna have a chance against the bigger guys though, he hits hard enough to hurt any of 'em. But you have to worry about his punch resistance and durability more now than a few years back.

Actually give Pacquiao more of a chance than I give Hatton.

Ricky would get beaten up, if he survives the first 8 he might give DLH some problems.... but ultimately not a concussive enough puncher at 147 to KO DLH - which is what I think he will need to do, even accepting the inevitable fade.

I'd actually agree with that. Pacquiao has that fleet of foot and tremendous handspeed, but the odds are still well against him.

I dont think Hatton could do anything to trouble De La Hoya. I think his come forward style would suit Oscar to a tee, i can only picture a De La Hoya blow out........... not a sight i want to see!

Strange how some people on hair gave Hatton a chance vs Mayweather, but it seems universal that a 36 year old, weight drained ODH would beat Ricky.

I thought Mayweather would beat him, as I think DLH would. All about levels.

IMO size is the crucial thing here, I gave Ricky a chance v PBF as Floyd started at 130, and I thought Hatton could impose his strength and will like he did against Tzysu.
However with hindsight, it has been shown How Hatton struggles against bigger guys, it nullyfies his main strength, which is his strength. At 140 he is as strong as anyone, but at 147 it is a different story.
Also of course PBF exposed some of his limitations too

I'd pay money to see Hatton against Marquez or Paquiao. Hatton PAquiao would be super-massive.

Maybe Floyd Snr could give Ricky sum hints on how to beat Oscar

Dont really think hatton would win, think Oscar would stop him late on.

Feel people are being harsh on Hatton with the money side of things, can you blame him for wanting to fight a future hall of famer & recieve mega bucks for it, what would you do in his position, mmmmmm?

Wasnt it Oscar that wanted the fight with Hatton in the first place, Oscar knows that he'd make a mint fighting at a full Wembley Arena.

If Ricky gets through Malignaggi in November then I think he should fight the winner of Oscar v Manny, if Hatton v Lazcano can sell out 57,000 tickets then think what Oscar or Manny could bring.
