The welterweight prizefighter draw has taken place and is as follows in bout order.

1.Ted Bami v George Hillyard

2.Steve Conway v Mark Lloyd

3. Michael Lomax v Craig Dickson

4. Nigel Wright v Ross Minter

Winner of bout one fights winner of bout two, and so on.

I had a feeling Bami would get Hillyard for some reason, not sure why. Wright-Minter could be a tasty starter, while the other four boys will all fancy their chances after that draw. Good show :TU: Now let's hope too many don't pull out befoe Friday night.

anyone else think hillyard could now be in with a shout..good draw for him, lomax and right are the dangermen, they are on the south side of the draw.

I THINK BAMI COULD KO HIM IF ANYTHING LIKE HIS BEST

well, its a welterweight competition, so he has no option but to be in shape, on paper hillyard is the biggest puncher in the competition with the highest percentage of KO's

bad draw for him a think, and bami has had 12 kos at a much higher leval to hillyards 5 against jorneymen! bami was also a european champion and i take your point on board about its a welter weight contest but i dont think that should matter to much over 3 rds.

you never know in boxing though! :TU:

Bami looked disinterested, disillusioned before, during and after the Barnes fight. I think Hillyard has a good chance in making the final. I'd personally think the winner of fight 4 wins this... and I am going for Minter if pushed.

Bami is undoubtedly much more talented and a much better fighter. However he is prone to slow starts and off nights and should Hillyard manage to win 2 of the first 3 rounds without getting floored that's it.....he wins the fight. I would fancy Bami to get the job done there but it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

I'm disappointed Lomax and Dickson have been matched together again in the first round but other than that it's okay.
Wright v Minter is a cracking fight and Conway v Lloyd is very intriguing.

I think this could be as exciting(if not more so) than the first Prizefighter.

I'm going for Wright, throws alot of punches, has a bit of a dig and has a good chin.
Bami isn't busy or accurate enough for me over the shorter distance, Hillyard still hasn't convinced me he's got his fitness right, although he is a strong lad with a good punch.
I don't know enough about Lloyd to say what chances he has, Lomax just isn't as good as a couple of others in this competition.
Dickson lost last time out against Lomax, so i think that shows his chances are slim here.
Conway has lost his last 4, but in good company, so depends how much ambition he has left.

I know the difference between winning and losing the first fight for P1 was £3,500.

It pans out quite nice for Conway actually - Bami and Hillyard will inflict plenty of damage on one another and, as we saw in P2, that affects the later fights greatly. If Wright can box away from Minter, he would be the other favourite for me.

I'll go for a Conway - Lomax final.

Well, looks like I will stand corrected about Hillyard making Welterweight. I'm still surprised though. It could still be a case of making the weight, but not being effective at the weight.

I was complete shit at predicting the last Prizefighter, but I'll have a bash at being very specific in my predicition for the Welterweights

1.Ted Bami v George Hillyard
2.Steve Conway v Mark Lloyd
3. Michael Lomax v Craig Dickson
4. Nigel Wright v Ross Minter

Hillyard v Lloyd

Lomax v Wright

Hillyard v Wright --> winner : Hillyard

I'm not convinced that Hillyard will be strong at welter, ok so he's a strong lightmiddle, but he's never weighed 147lbs for a fight before, Hillyard was 159lbs for his last fight.
The only time he weighed 150 he struggled to beat David Wakefield, so maybe he's one of those guys that loses something when getting his weight right down.

but hillyard could be nearly 12stone come fite-nite. he will be the biggest there for sure

I agree he'll be the biggest, but he will gorge himself on fast food to bulk up the night before.

I can see him beating Bami, as i think Bami is shot but I think he'll get found out in the semi's.

My prediction is a Lomax v Conway final with Lomax just edging it, but i am slightly bias.

Bami has a weak chin.

Hillyard will win this match up, but I hope I am wrong.

Come on, Bami!!!!!!
