There are some excellent fights this weekend are any of them being shown??

Felix Sturm v Sebastian Sylvester
Sergiy Dzinziruk v Joel Julio
Both of them on the same bill in Germany, for me they are 50/50 fights.

I think Setanta are showing the Donaire V South African fella bill with Chavez Jnr on the undercard against Vanda??

If you ask me they've gone for the lesser quality offering of the weekend with that solid German show and Mijares-Darchinyan also doing the rounds. But then again I think Setanta have some sort of deal with Arum's Top Rank TV which might explain matters.

I remember the good 'ole days when the BBC used to show some big fights on Sunday.... (sigh)

I guess I'll just search around and try to catch a stream of Mijares - Darchinyan - anyone know what time its likely to be on UK time?

The showtime broadcast starts at 9pm Eastern, which is 1am our time, nice that there is only a 4 hour time difference as their clocks dont go back until tonight.

Seems we are getting Chavez Jnr V Vanda and little else according to the SKY guide :(

Where at? I was certain I saw this advertised in the pub the other night but can't find it on the setanta listings tonight. Is it on sky sports?

the chavez jnr card is on delayed coverage on setanta, at 12 pm sunday!

Is this program showing the other fights - Arce, Donaire, Peterson, Martirosyan?

You'd have to assume that when Setanta buy this they get the whole show, so its unbelievable that they show the entire Chavez Jr fight and next to nothing of the Arce and Danaire bouts.

Vic still looks mostly a wild swinger Mijares shouldn't of tried to become the aggressor.

I think in the last two fights Vic has shown he's more than just a guy who walks around like a crab wanging left hands. He can be crude, but is very unorthodox and has some speed with that left hand. Two great stoppage wins in a row now.

Mijares seemed far too casual in there, but props to Darchinyan for destroying a quality champ. Vic is feral and Mijares couldn't live with that ferocity. (I think Mijares would do much better vs Donaire, than Darchinyan did).

Agreed on Setanta coverage. Garbage. On a night of many interesting bouts. All those quality fighters performing on the same show as bloody Chavez Jr! The middleweight prospect Koborov, former world champ and Mexican celebrity Arce, world champ Nonito Donaire, prospect Peterson...

Yes. Showed the full Vanda fight and then voice over clips of Peterson, Koborov and Donaire.

a) Why show a full fight that you know is going to points when you only have an hour
b) Why have it on for only an hour.

I know something is better than nothing, but the Setanta site had both fights (Donaire included) as being on in the hour.

I stayed up and watched the stream, well worth it, 1 of the better fights of the year, I prefered it to Cotto-Margarito but it was more 1sided although Mijares had his moments, wonderful performance by Vic

I'd say Mijares was shown up as not wanting to get into the trenches, when he tried to get combinations off first and back Vic up it was working well for him but he wanted to try and counter punch. Vic was definately tiring and Mijares should have turned the heat up on him

Yes, I cannot understand if you have rights to it then why not broadcast it. It wasn't as if Setanta had something else clashing - mainly repeats, TV shopping and showing Setanta Sports News.

Its a pet hate of the VIP shows shown on Channel M. I see a host of repeats on the channel, so why not increase the length to 2 hours to shows case more of the bill - instead butchering the highlights.

Have to hand it to Graham Houston, yet again - About 98% of the web writers predicted a Mijares win, apart from GH, who picked Vic
