I'm viewing this entirely on the superficial evidence of their records but Dunne's change of opponent looks huge, is South American and hits hard....

Hope Dunne prevails but it looks like a game selection.

As I say, it could all be bluff and mirrors, I've not seen the kid fight.

Dublin's former European super-bantamweight champ Bernard Dunne continues his rehabilitation against Uruguay's Cristian "El Terrible" Faccio in Castlebar in Southern Ireland on November 15.
Dunne lost his European belt in 86 disastrous seconds to Spanish puncher Kiko Martinez last year in Dublin but has won two on the spin since and the Martinez defeat remains his only one in 27 contests. His team are said to be eyeing slick Canadian Steve Molitor, a man Dunne beat in the unpaid ranks in Dublin in July 1997, for the world title next year, given Molitor now holds the IBF belt. To Faccio, one of those tough, hardworking South Americans who fights anyone, anywhere and presumably at any weight. He challenged for the WBC bantamweight title in Japan in June and was starched by Hozumi Hasegawa in two rounds and has also challenged unsuccessfully for a South American title last year in Argentina at super-flyweight.
Since the world title setback, Faccio, 16-3 (11), has belted someone in the first round in his native country. The 25-year-old looks decent enough but the standard in Uruguay is pretty average and natural size and strength are against him. Dunne is a huge super-bantamweight. To beat the Irishman, as Martinez showed, you need to push him back, hurt and discourage him, and that's not easy.
Dunne should box and punch his way to a 10-round decision.

You see, he isn't that big - he looked like he wrestled buffalos in the promo shot.

What this about "the Kiko fight showed"? That fight lasted less than a round where Dunne was twatted straight away, doesn't really show anything with regards to backing Dunne up, just that Kiko hits really hard.

Dunne's original opponent(Eduard Garcia) was much, much tougher. This guy was stopped in 6 rounds and floored 3 times by Sergio Carls Santillian. Now I now A beats B, and beat beats C, doesn't mean A beats C. But Dunne beat Santillian with ease, flooring him on the way to winning every round in an 8 rounder.

Faccio brings a nice looking record and a #11 ranking with the WBC at Bantamweight and not much else. It's a real shame Garcia got cut in sparring because he was much a step in the right direction. Faccio on the otherhand is a sideways move.

Would have preferred Garcia to be honest although Faccio could prove to be a dangerman. I expect Bernard will solve his early aggression and punch ou the decision unless Faccio wilts late on. Article on Dunne and Faccio should be going up on BBN soon, so keep an eye out

I dont see this being a hard fight for Dunne, the fella is small and only a Bantam Weight..
Hozumi Hasegawa is Class and KO'd him in 2 rounds, expect for him all of he's opponents has been Poor..

Dunne a big S-Bantam should'nt struggle against this type of opponent..

Hitman, for once you are talking out of your bottom...Dunne is a class act..his skills IMO, are more than enough to rip the title off Munroe, and after some of the fights hehas taken and will continue to take that can only be a good thing!!

everyone is saying what a tremendous prospect he is.

as soon as he remotely steps up in class he starts going the distance.

comes back to ireland with his tail between his legs after looking really poor over there in a few fights.

has some warm up fights and then finally faces a decent opponent.

gets owned in 1 rd.

the kid is a bust.

He is still a decent European level operator, but is being very protected, even more so than Khan has been

No it's not, it's about the same level. But the point still stands that you described winning and defending the European title as 'warm up fights'.
Dunne currently has very little hype about him(in World sense anyway), the only hype is about him getting to fight Munroe for the European title. A level he has shown he can more than compete at. So that hype is justified. Early predictions came a long time ago, in a country thousands of miles away. After all Ryan Rhodes has fallen way short of early predicitions, but people are still giving him loads of credit for winning the British title and beating Vincent Vuma.
