Why did he retire after beating Arguello?

I've read that he simply didn't want to fight anymore after the punishment he took on his way to eeking out a win. I don't know if that's entirely true, but that's the only info I've read on that matter.

It's amazing how little is said/written of Marcel, especially considering all that Arguello went on to do afterward.
