Not often he grabs a win, but he's an absolute diamond of a kid and a credit to the sport - Daniel Thorpe won by 5th round stoppage on sat night up in wigan.
He boxed fantastically and it was no one punch fluke, controlled and calm, picking his shots nicely.
After a rough year, Thorpey is back on the circuit and its a pleasure to see him look so well in his 98th fight.

Saw Thorpe when he nailed Dwayne hill (i think it was, young sheffield kid) with about 5 seconds left in the fight. Had there been 25 seconds left Danw ould've beaten hill, no doubt.

Great stuff.Thorpy can box really well -heøs chosen to be a journeyman rather than is one.Igf he prepared for fights individually rather take them on short notice he'd have far more wins 'ive no doubt about that.Smashing fella

He gave Gavin Rees a very tough bout not long before Rees went and beat Souleymane M'Baye.
Infact bar getting stopped I'd say Thorpe actually caused Rees more problems

I've got a couple kids that have been with me since they were 9 and 10. Now they are 17.
Another kid who is now 20 and i've had since he was 10.
Who know's if they will come through and do well?

You do the best job you can when someone comes to you. Be that as a trainer/ manager/ or promoter.

I'm not wetting myself about thorpey winning a fight.
The point is he's had a rough time, didn't think he was going to box again and has done well. And just wanted to give him a little credit.

Not everything in boxing revolves around the superstars of the game.
For every champion there are still shit loads of fighters getting punched in the head keeping the game alive.

theres always one bellend. its a shame cos most people involved with boxing have a great deal of respect and understanding of one an other.despite their personal opinion of someone.

2fights I saw him in ,Bradford beating Mally McKiver for Central Area title it was like a World Title fight and then getting the wrong end of a bad decision to Steffy Bull great fights.The consumate Pro.

Oh, well if you check with the board, they will let you know that the central area decision was overturned by the main board stewards.

Dom, John Ingle and myself get on quite cordially you'll be surprised to know.

They have boxer's on my shows, i have boxer's on show's that John matches for.
We all know how the game works.

emma i've got nothing againts the ingles at all great trainers and people.

just that in my opinion dave was better for kell, his fitness,strength,power and timing all seem better. maybe thats because dave forcused more time on kell or kell just matured. when kell was at the ingles there was alot of champions there that was above kell in the pecking order and kell was just young novice
