Well, Haye defended the hotel he put Monte in by saying it is the same one that allegedly put him in for the Enzo Macc fight. Saying they are doing the same thing as allegedly is not a good argument for me, if you want your promotions company to be seen as a offering something better for boxers.

This is fairly typical of decent named Yanks coming over here! They are not used to the UK way of doing things. I remember Vivan Harris beefing off when he fought Witter.

I guess £30 food a day in the Jarvis Ramada, hailing black cabs doesn't quite cut it for Barrett. Especially when you have just fought at the Mandalay Bay, being ferried around in limos.

It is a different world.

Playing devil's advocate, it's worth pointing out that 1) A heavyweight boxer's dietary needs are far different from a boxrec poster's and 2) £30 doesn't go an awful long way in a London hotel restaurant even for a normal human being's evening meal, let alone three square meals a day for a heavyweight boxer. That said, these things should have been negotiated before Barrett arrived in Britain so he should perhaps look to his own promoters rather than Hayemaker.

I'm sure it was not something that was revealed on landing... anyway he's so sure he's going to win, surely the purse and the future paydays will smooth it all out Monte?

Hope he gets sparked tbh, but he'll still get the same money won't he?

Yep, the apparently poor ticket sales don't affect Barrett. However, something I found interesting is that, according to Barrett, under the terms of the original agreement he would have received less for a rematch with Haye - peculiar given that he would only have been offered a rematch had he won the first fight. He says there is no rematch clause now.

Surely that was done in order to dissuade him from asking for said clause?

This is a dangerous fight for Haye, in my opinion. Barrett keeps getting up...

A heavyweight is likely to eat more than 3 meals a day.
Anyone else remember the hype back in June about the new promotional company "empowering" fighters. Will that still be their priority if they take a big hit on this show ?

Funny as Haye himself was making the same complaints prior to the Macc fight, moaning that Frank hadn't laid on a limo to the arena etc

Seems most in the UK can't imagine this going wrong for DH, it borders on the unthinkable.
I'm really hoping it goes right for him, and an early blast out is what he & boxing needs, but if Barrett survives early, I reckon there's a good chance he'll get to Haye. I'm having a bet on MB rounds 3-5, you can get around 66-1 at paddypower

I've backed Barrett Rounds 1, 2 and 3 as a comfort bet, just in case Haye gets chinned and I need a serious drink to get over it - the odds on Barrett in those rounds are ridiculously patriotic

Read your preview Glyn, and you didn't seem too confident about Haye's chances either - in fact I don't think you made a prediction..whereas I recall you were pretty sure he'd blast out Enzo.

Going to be a knife edge atmospehere where the first bell rings, that's for sure.

I see it as a complete throw of the dice Warrior - fantastic match for the fans
