he goes from fighting in sunny queensland and within 4 fights he has the balls to fight casamayor followed by diaz and then declares he'll fight anyone else who is at the top of the tree. his next fight may not be against pacquiao etc. but not many fighters these days have the guts to say i only want to fight the best and then actually do it. they are usually trying to dodge everyone.
its just so annoying when there are so many good fighters but they won't fight each other. instead we have to put up with shit fights like calzaghe vs jones jr etc.

which other aussies do u think could pull off an upset if they had the balls to face a big name fighter at present?
and who could they possibly beat?

Vic Darchinyan could beat anyone from flyweight to welterweight.

Thats right who has Geale fought mmm Dawson and a great win. Dont get me wrong I like Geale but get on with it and step up just like Katsidis.

Yeah i agree with that.

Dawson was a great win and Ajetovic was a pretty good opponent as well. McKinnon is a step back though however I do think Geale wants to do good things in the sport. The problem is that while he is a great boxer he isn't going to generate the type of excitment that a Katsidis or Darchinyan can, apart from in Lowie's eye that is, which might hold him back a bit in terms of getting fights and / or US exposure...

katsidis has definitely got alot of ticker, its just a shame he doesnt have a bit more skill to go along with it

thats a bit harsh he should of beat casamayor and lost to once undisputed champ by split decision

He is number 2 on my list right behind Vic, Cant penalise someone for taking on the best in his division twice.

I'm a big fan of Katsidis personality, heres a man willing to fight the very best in his division,and puts on the most entertaining fights, and yet he is hardly known in Australia.

I think Katsidis should have beat Casamayor, and would in a rematch, failing this i would like to see Katsidis fight Yuri Romanov, it would be what the Americans love about Katsidis if he fought Romanov...an all out WAR.

Yeah but that wont happen, the US have him pegged as a Gatti, a no brain brawler who entertains regardless of health.
But more than likely i'm wrong, i have a 99% strike rate in that department, either way i think he wins both fights as Romanov couldn't even get past Graham Earl.

Yeah you're right, but the question was if they did step up like Katsidis, who in Australia would be most likely to succeed and I think Geale is probably the man most ready to step up.
