Hope I've spelt that right !
When he left the UK, he indicated he was retiring.
He fought on Friday in South Africa, but lost.
I heard he was well in front then got caught cold, and got stopped.
Anyone know any more ?
Always enjoyed watching this kid, and his story of how he got over here and his life generally was uplifting.
Will always remember the daylight robbery of his fight with Barnes.
Hope he's ok.

Didnt know he as fighting and im very surprised he was stopped. I'd imagine Chado will know more if he still reads the boards. There was rumours of a book about Ali's life being written.
Looks like he's had 3 fights since returning home. W2 L1

Going by reports, Ali was having a good fight, leading on the scorecards . Got caught by a big shot, took alot after. Went down and the ref waved the fight off straight away.
Depending on what report i read, Ali was either hurt badly, or he was ok to get up, but the ref waved it off.

His opponent seems to have 'failed' to make weight by half a stone, despite making 147, 5 weeks ago.
Looks like someone didn't want to step into the ring without a major advantage.

Poor Ali, is that the case?
Great guy and a great fighter, was a shame about the cut v Watson as the tables were turning his way.

The guy he lost to,
Bongani Mwelase, is the 2006 Commonwealth Games Welterweight Gold medallist. Possibly someone to keep an eye out for. His record looks pretty and he's tall for a Welterweight/Light Middleweight at 6 foot.
