As Hagler 2002 said you need to set it up to record using your remote. It won't work if you ring them up and order. Don't ask me why I tried to get Sky to explain this last December but got nowhere. The recording will last for about a week I think.
Watch out though because if you record it in HD (which you should) it will take a huge amount of memory to record from 9pm to about 6am
Just make sure you 'keep' your programmes so it is the missus that get deleted

Chinny I also phoned sky up and had a 20 min row with them about it, the outcome was I got the lads name I was talking to and there would be a letter on Rupert Murdoch's desk Monday morning regarding his poor attitude, he hung up on me

Rupert Murdoch doesn't run BSkyB any more................look at this page below.
http://www.connectotel.com/marcus/ceoemail.html
Have a look on here, Jeremy Darroch is the bloke.
When sky sodded up my broadband connection, and after several attempts they wouldn't give me the code so that I could get another provider - I sent an email to the then CEO who was James Murdoch - I had a reply within 24 hours - then got the code to migrate my service and also two months free subscription to sky to boot!
Send an email explaining the problem, when you go right to the head honcho it is amazing how quickly things happen.

Another thing with sky at the moment is I can't record anything off my sky+ box to disc, it keeps failing and reports a copy protection error :x

I thought films were always copy-protected anyway. Sport is odd, might be a patch is required. Go to digitalspyforum. It's a good collection of geeks that should be able to help you.
Could always PM poodlepoo, he's useful at this sort of stuff.

Rupert has never been CEO (as you say James, his son was until recently). Rupert is majority shareholder (through News Corp) and still therefore effectively makes (or signs off at the very least) the major strategic decisions.
I'm starting to think about buying Saturday's PPV. Someone persuade me otherwise. Its not the money for me, its the principle.

I was suggesting that you email the current CEO and complain - you may get something done about it.

Problem is, I won't be able to record the Hatton-Malinaggi card to my sky+ box and I can't record it direct to disc either because of this stupid "copy protection" error I keep getting

I had a really weird one the other day - I bought a DVD, and plugged a projector in - and then a message came up saying something along the lines that I didn't have the rights to broadcast the content! WTF!

I have had no problems with Sky box office boxing in the past, not via Sky+ (I haven't got that) but via my HDD/DVD recorder (a panasonic).
Setanta Sports 2 (bizzarely) I cannot record.
