well, it irritated me anyway. I expect blatant bias on messageboards from every day fans, but my expectations are higher when it comes to pro writers, especially renowned ones like Borges.

huh? while I admit Paulie has skills and can be slippery on his day, I think this is stretching things a bit far, no?

Did Borges catch Paulies last couple of outings, or the Cotto fight even? mastery of defense?

He became a title-holder by outpointing Lovemore Ndou. Note how NO reference is made to Paulies level of opposition, or how he's struggled in recent fights against fringe guys, while references to Hatton getting involved in tough, close fights are liberal.

Instead, Paulie is just simply and quickly described as a defensive genius, with no real analysis or depth to that statement, while the breakdown of Hattons' demise flows on through the article.

Even the title annoyed me. Yes its a reference to Hattons own quote, but the wording is such that it can also be taken as a prediction.

I dunno, maybe I'm reading too much into it, just biased writing (& commentating, etc) tends to annoy me

If Paulie is a defensive master I need to start watching a new sport. Against, N'Dou Paulie ate right hands like they were going out of fashion. He's fast and fancy, but not really slick or cute.

Has anyone been watching the countdown? Watching it all week on sky sports has actually made me question Ricky's ability to beat Malignaggi... Paulie is an adaptable boxer, it will be close but i reckon The magic man will do it.

Hatton will beat him. Dont rate mallinaggi ata ll. his best performance was with a helping hand form the referee against n'dou the first time. His second best performance was hanging in there getting smashed up by Cotto.

Im a little worried about mayweather snrs comments about Hatton being able to walk through Malinaggis punches though. Feather fisted or not you wouldnt want to see ricky cut early through complacency.

I'm mote worried about the state of him at the weight in. I've never seen him that dry and skinny. Hopefully he'll overcome it.

Ricky looked starved, the worst I have seen him just before a fight. I think he will struggle and only just get the nod. I think he may quit after this. No good going up to welter he has already tried that.

Those first 4 rounds are absolutely vital in my view.

This is one exciting fight for me - f*ck - I havn't booked it best do that now.

I have stated since the fight was being discussed that Rickys life outside the ring has finally caught up with him - couple that with Graham and more improtantly Kerry Kayes being out of the camp I just cannot see Ricky winning.

I want Ricky to win - it will be brilliant - and for me Rickys best victory - I hope he does.

But having a dabble on Malanaggi in 9,10 11 or 12 you will get odds of between 66 & 80 - 1 .... not bad for a friendly dabble.

Those kinds of odds for a late stoppage, cuts a possibility, are fantastic

As much as I'd love to see Hatton complete the November trilogy of British victories, I think Malignaggi is the better technical boxer and possibly the more determined of the two.

Malignaggi - comfortable UD.

I expect a Hatton victory but it wouldn't suprise me if Paulie wins, Hattons attitude hasn't seemed right since the Mayweather fight and he's looked even more uncomfortable since the Lazcano fight. He's also made some big changes in his team and he just hasn't looked as comfortable in the build up to this fight. If he loses I think he may call it a day.

I have to say, we tend to show respect for fighters at weighins for looking the part - like how cut the mexicans are etc.... my word Hatton looked impressive at the weigh in - I don't think I have seen a British fighter look so fit ever.

Really? I thought Hatton looked more gaunt than usual. Watt was trying to underplay it, but his stomach was concaved.

But I haven't seen him in the last two weigh-ins, so perhaps it's been a while.

I thought he looked good, but if I was Malignaggi I would be tackling the stomach. Seen him hurt before to the body and it looked possibly over done. I'd like to see some little fat to protect the ribs.
