What happened to the big Warren's big announcement thread, seems to have vanished? Anyway somebody had said that it might have something to do with Kell Brook so maybe Cotto and Top Rank have forgotten about challenging for the WBO title and are heading off in another direction leaving Jennings and Brook to contest the vacant title?

I'd guess announcements regarding amateur signings...but it is only a guess. Didn't see the other thread.

I assumed it would be that as well, confirmation of Gavin and the unveiling of Degale and possibly one other Olypmian but then someone mentioned that it was going to be something to do with Kell Brook.

I hope Brook goes far but is he really ranked top 15 by the WBO?

Come on. One step at a time. Kell will be quite handsomly ranked by the EBU (the European titles sanctioning body) as Kevin McIntyre was ranked 5th so KOing him in 1 will surely put Kell up there.

Yes my annoucement topic got deleted as DG said FW was allegedly gay in it. Someone said it was to do with Brook because the annoucement part was made in the same piece frank was talking about Brook.

Yeah, Frank was raving about Kell in his column and said he could be the next British superstar and to watch for a big announcement on his future this week.

Wouldn't it be best to unleash Kell Brook - when Kell Brook is ready for the world?

He's just won the British title. Yes, he did it brilliantly. But that also means he's not had many rounds at British level. Let's hope this isn't going to be the announcement.

This lad is talented and I want to see him developed. D E V E L O P E D. If FW is the best promoter in Europe, surely he will move Brook, step by step? So as to maximise his abilities AND his potential.

Michael Jennings would be Brooks hardest "world" title fight in a few years.... should he be success - we will have "I'm on the cusp of announcing Margarito"..... then we will have Brook vs Doherty first defence. Then it will be "Judah" - but in reality McIntyre 2, The world class Eamonn Magee etc etc etc!

Yes but FW was talking about up and coming britsh boxers in general he might not mean the announcements about kell.

If Brook wins the WBO he will still be fighting british/euro level opponents for a while - he'll be brought along slowly and developed as Hatton was. The WBO rarely enforce mandatories as well, so if he wins the WBO title he won't have to face anyone who is true world class until his team feel he's ready.

You never know though. Welter is a quite hard division, and Brook is very young. If a promoter with any clout has a dangerous challenger, Brook as hypothetical WBO champ might not be able to avoid it.

Would be bloody weird if it took a WBO title to get guys like Brook and Jennings in the ring. A world title, to make a British title fight yet again.

Anyway, probably none of this will happen - as the announcement could be anthing. Hopefully.

Nobody should get wound up about a Sports Network announcement.

They are regularly moved.

Jennings is fighting Cotto on Feb 14 so why are we wasting our time with this?!

He'd box Brook's head off.

Cotto will beat him by TKO, though I'll be rooting for Mick, one of the sport's good guys.
