Hennessy Sports KO 1 Sports Network

Really enjoyed the ITV 4/1 show tonight. Saw Tyson Fury, a surprisingly swift ending to McIntosh/Anderton and a war between David/Wright. Then we got Froch/Pascal, possibly the best world title fight on these shores since Brodie/Chi 1. A brilliant night, all in all. I had the Sports Network bill playing on my laptop (fook paying for it), and didn't really feel the need to divert my eyes from ITV once. Enzo-Ellis was the joke we knew it would be, Khan looked great against a guy who talked better than he fought, and Audley was...well, Audley. Pay-per-view?
Overall, Hennessy Sports takes this one. Also, Froch and Pascal are a credit to this sport.

to be fair, Audley LOST. Almost, almost, worth the money just for that lol.

Macca vs Ellis and Khan vs Fagan were overly one-sided. So much so, that I felt bad for the guys on the receiving end.
Whereas Froch vs Pascal was competitive and absolutely fan-f
ucking-tastic.
Hennessy Sports was most definitely superior to Sports Network tonight.

Yeah, but there's Audley losing and then there's Audley LOSING. He lost to Guinn and Williams. He LOST to Michael Sprott. At least if you're going to lose Aud, do it in style mate.

Fagan was shell-shocked. Khan looked great - actually boxing and moving rather than standing flat-footed and windmilling. In the end, Fagan wound up looking like a poor man's Michael Gomez.

Comparing Hennessey and Warren is like comparing apples and oranges based on tonights shows.
One was based on (allegedly) making as much cash as possible, the other was a 50/50 contest of top class boxing brought to a nationwide audience.

Proper title, proper fight, proper undercard, proper promoter.
Excellent main event, on the undercard a genuine surprise, etc etc. Hopefully a big auidence saw Froch win a hard, exciting battle that will prepare him for bigger things.
A load of rubbish on Sky. Fringe belts, fighters who aren't getting competition, but rather clinging to fringes v opponents they can't lose to. (Glad to hear that Rogan bet Audley, though.)
I don't give a fornicate how much Khan is getting paid - as boxing it is threadbare, lame, consistently disapponting...Over on Sky boxing is just a predictable racket. On ITV tonight this was sport.
Froch is a proper competitor (like David Haye) & he beat a good, hungry and quite talented fighter tonight. It's great to see him AT LAST make that leap up to world class, having knocked out domestic & Euro guys.

Enzo Maccarinelli looked really good tonight, even though his opponent was many leagues below him. Enzo's physique has improved hugely. He looks much more powerful and his shots were more stinging than ever. His accuracy and punch picking was excellent. I do hope Warren allows him to fight Banks. Macca will do him proud.
Amir Khan also looked really good. The winging overhand rights that usually distress him were completely ignored as they bounced of his high left hand. Khan looks so much more sturdy and I didn't feel worried about his chin once (which I usually do). Khan picked his shots really well and wasn't phased at all. He looked like a man on a mission. It's obvious to see that the sparring in America has benefited him hugely, and Roach has done an excellent job with him. Khan is ready to step up now. Not to Romanov level, obviously, but why not go for Thaxton or Murray now?
Martin Rogan; you rock.
D He seemed like a great guy when I first saw him fighting at Bethnal Green in the Prizefighter tournament. I'm really glad he won.

I know it is beyond their control, but ITV were a little unlucky in that the two fights they had scheduled as being live on the undercard both ended within a round!

Caught Macca/Ellis and Khan/Fagan on a stream - I'm not paying £15 notes for that shit. And I'll catch Pacman/Hoya on a stream too.

I did, intrigued by the main event, don't give a shit about the english leg.
Who knows, could be history in the making, maybe a total mismatch, but I'd like to find out.

Nah, I'm watching gratis. I did buy the Hatton fight, but I don't think I've bought more than one per year for the last couple. Setanta having what they do has made Sky's box office offerings much less tempting, to be honest.

Amir Khan and Enzo Maccarinelli will return to action early next year in a bid to build on impressive wins at London's ExCeL Arena.
The pair are being lined up to feature on a show to be held on either the 21st or 28th of February, promoter allegedly confirmed late on Saturday night.
No venue has been confirmed for the fights, or whether Warren's three Olympic signings will also appear on the card.
Having defeated Matthew Ellis at heavyweight, Maccarinelli will move back down to cruiserweight in a bid to regain his old WBO title.
American Jonathon Banks, who Maccarinelli was supposed to fight on Saturday night until he was ruled out with an injury, is most likely to be in the opposite corner.
21st is the night of Bob Arum's double PPV Cotto Vs Jennings & Pavlik Vs Rubio, but I thought this would be on Setanta??

I didnt watch the SN bill as I was not going to pay £15 to see khan knock over a journeyman. Im sorry but Khan is not ppv worthy IMO infact neither was the whole bill! ITV was much better. ok maybe the boxers arnt as well known as khan, harrison etc but them along with Hennessey put on a better show. they even had live singers (booty luv) for the boxers to walk out to. I bet Itv was pleased after the tripe FW served up when he was with them.

Been told that the Top Rank contract was only for this year.

Gutted i missed Aud's final demise but 'the Count' and his ITV crew looking good thus far. Alas,the adverts can't be avoided....but FFS do away with the 'live' act singing the fighters to the ring.
