Looks like this one is on for March 7, 2009 in Belfast, Ireland :box:

Good fight. One of the first domestic scraps to look forward to next year. I like Lindsay on points. Appleby is a good youngster with lots of talent but this one might have arrived a little early for him. Big test for the Scotsman!

Apparently Appleby got an amazing offer from Hayemaker to go to Belfast, in the upper 5 figures.

Good one- I will look forward to it. I predict that Appleby takes this by a surprisingly comfortable points margin.

Cracking fight between two young fighters who want to establish themselves at the pinnacle of the domestic scene.

Cant wait for it - I would like to see Lindsay win it but I have a feeling that the Scot might edge it..

There's been some interesting results with the latest bout of purse bids.
Watch this space.

Well Hayemaker have backed up what they said so far, here's what Tommy Gilmour had to say on the offer.

Gilmour believes the offer to take Appleby to Belfast's Ulster Hall on March 7 for a mandatory defence - understood to be in the high five-figure range - was just too good to turn down.

"After hefty negotiations with Hayemaker Promotions, they came up with an unbelievable offer," he said.

"It is the biggest amount ever offered to a champion I've had and Paul is blown away by the deal. I've had lots of big purses in the past but this is exceptional and I had no option but to take it. We are disappointed not having it in Scotland but, first and foremost, I'm Paul's manager and I need to get the best deal I can for him."

Good fight this is..I see Appleby being a little too good and a little too strong for Lindsay..But you never know what fighting in front of all those Irishmen might do to him?? It could make Lindsay perform out of his skin..

Think Appelby will win this one comfortably on points
Lyndsay was getting beat by wide margin till he Chinned Dirty Derry Mathews.

Hopefully good scrap though

yea he was decent amatuer , i know i boy who beat him in Ams
and Amir Khan done him in a Round though Amir was obviously a great amateur

Appelby has come on a ton though and in the pros he looks a Good operator
Think British Title will be his level though unless he improves Dramaticaly in next few years

Good point , I saw the fight where he won the british title and he looked good for a young inexperienced fighter. I didnt see his last fight was he impressive?

he won pretty comfortable against Isham Pickering
he wasnt happy with hsi performance he said in the interview , however hardly lost a round
apart from one bad round where he seemed out of sorts.

Pickering was running all night though
