Re: froch - taylor

The Pascal win was a good one, but this is Froch's chance to make a name for himself stateside......I think Taylor's hand speed and competent boxing skills wins a close-ish decision
I defy anyone to argue with that ^"From his comments and the stuff he's said, I don't want to be horrible but I think he's a little bit thick, Joe Calzaghe, I really do," said Froch. "His comments are just absolutely ridiculous so he must be a little bit stupid.
"He talks about fighting Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr but has he forgotten that Bernard Hopkins is 43 and well, well passed his best.
"He got beat by Bernard Hopkins in not just my opinion but in my other people's opinion, including one of the judges on the night.
"Roy Jones Jr is 39-years-old - I would have taken more pride in refusing a fight with Roy Jones Jr because the guy shouldn't be fighting.
"He says he will knock me out in three rounds but Joe Calzaghe doesn't knock anybody out lately - he slaps for 12 rounds, and against both of his last two opponents he got decked in the first round.
"If I deck him in the first round I'm not going to let him off the hook. If anyone's going to get knocked out in three rounds it's him."
Eastman got off lightly then.Terry D wrote: DG thinks he ducked Howard Eastman!
Bika is a great shout, but it can't be him as he has at least one mandatory defence (I think it's two because he won a vacant title). Manfredo Jr is also retired now. Dirrell or Ward would make interesting fighs, but Dirrell is maybe a bit too green right now.sg1985 wrote:i wouldnt call him world class but sakio bika would be a good fight for froch before he took on taylor or kessler
Witter does not have a fan-friendly style and he doesn't have a following, these are the 2 main differences between Juniors and Carls situation.Terry D wrote: Let us not get carried away, this forum collectively shot a load in its pants when Witter won the WBC, where did that get him?
Other than a light kd, Hopkins did nothing but cry foul, foul himself and hold. He lost widely. Froch also said Lacy would KO Joe at the time that was hyped In a boxing monthly Interview which has pics of him hitting a bag and posing. He's bullshitting In hopes he can get a Calzaghe fight."From his comments and the stuff he's said, I don't want to be horrible but I think he's a little bit thick, Joe Calzaghe, I really do," said Froch. Good point, Witter became even more Inactive since he won that title too yet Hennessey was still mouthing off because of his big ego.Let us not get carried away, this forum collectively shot a load in its pants when Witter won the WBC, where did that get him?

The Roy KD was a clear accidental forearm as well shown on the replay.
Calzaghe wouldn't cleanly KO Froch but he could get a TKO If the ref shows Froch mercy and stops It when Joe's overwhelming him with workrate and volume.

I think Taylor will win, he looked negative at Middleweight but gotten less negative at 12 stone.
I will, in part. I agree Calzaghe doesnt KO people anymore but he would be far too fast for Froch and would get it on points. Froch has terrible defense and would be an easy target for Calzaghe. No way would Froch KO Calzaghe even if he caught him clean. Calzaghe isnt thick by any means but he is inclined like his Father to say the odd silly thing. Although Calzaghe beat Kessler I see them as pretty even, and I cant see how Froch can beat either of them. Having got there I think Froch will have a difficult time with the divisions best. Hopkins despite his age proved he still has it by beating Pavlik the way he did. RJJ was a money fight as was Hopkins. Comming to the end of his career money and retiring undefeated are Joes priorities. Fighting Froch if he decides to do so is nowhere near as risky as when he fought Kessler and I think Calzaghe could quite well do a Lacy on Froch.Chambers2 wrote:I defy anyone to argue with that ^"From his comments and the stuff he's said, I don't want to be horrible but I think he's a little bit thick, Joe Calzaghe, I really do," said Froch. Froch is just trying to call Joe out, what do you expect him to do, write a polite letter which his mum countersigns, and then sent it to Joe?Finch wrote:Good post WW.
Froch had the bare faced cheek to tell Calzaghe to get in line if he wants to fight him.
Get real Froch, compared to Joe Calzaghe, a legend, you're a complete nobody. Calzaghe is a Light Heaveyweight these days, if you wanna fight him, you better get a few names and a title under your belt after moving up a weight (which you say you won't do) to get it, but don't hang about cos Joe certainly ain't gonna !!
If Froch was anything but English he wouldn't even be on the radar, it's only cos he's English he reckons the fans wanna see it. No Carl we don't because we don't want to see Joe C fight any nobody's.
He only wants Froch because he looked beatable the other night.Terry D wrote:According to the increasingly out-of-it DG Taylor is a 'ducker', how does he work that out? DG, we know it is down to madness but how can you justify claiming that Hatton is a 'ducker' for not fighting Witter and Taylor is one for fighting every name put in front of him. You can't piss and moan that no one takes tough fights any more then knock Taylor, it is nonsensical.

He DUCKED out of fighting Eastman!
He DUCKED out of fighting Froch before.
Call Him Donald Duck!
