I caught this fight on a live stream last night for the IBF Cruiserweight Title and it was worth it as it turned out to be one of the Fights of the Year for 2009

12 rounds of non stop action plus 3 Knockdowns, the fight reminded me alot of the Froch vs Pascal fight but had the added bonus of the knockdowns

Not sure where to download it from but it'd defo be well worth for any Boxing Fan as I was buzzing from the Froch fight and even more so with this fight

I've liked Adamek since he beat the Aussie former kickboxer Paul Briggs for the light-heavy title, fantastic to see him fight so well here.

What a knockdown drag-out affair it was too. The Pole has been in a few of these (the fight with Chad Dawson, the two with Briggs, even his win over Thomas Ulrich was a bit of a war for a while) so I wonder how he can keep going but mega-chuffed for him.

A real tough guy.

Respect to Cunningham as well -- he showed a lot of heart to keep getting up from those right hands!

Great win. With wins over Bell and Cunningham, Adamek is IBF and Ring mag champion. He'll have plenty more good fights.

Goes to show a light heavy can win a cruiserweight belt.

You'd have to say that Dawson's win over Adamek looks a bit better now. Even though Adamek was weight drained. Adamek was getting outclassed and hammered that night, but his strength, power and persistence enabled him to drop Dawson and close strong. He's always dangerous, Adamek. I'm glad to have been a fan of him since his wars with Paul Briggs. Always felt he could have beaten Tarver and Johnson.

If it ever went pear shaped for David Haye at heavyweight (and I mean Herbie style), I'd love to see him and Adamek meet halfway...

It almost makes you wish Haye had stayed down a fight longer to fight one of these guys, though the lure of heavyweight money and being at a healthy fighting weight were too much for Haye.

We've seen some damn good cruiser fights over the last few years.

Will Macca fancy a fight with Adamek? For British boxing, I'd love to see this. Obviously Macca will want his WBO situation sorting out first.

Adamek - Smaller man & Ring mag / IBF champ - this gets Macca respect in America and a smaller opponent, albeit a puncher. reward and risk balances just about right.

That's a great fight for Hopkins. As tough as Adamek is, I'd gamble everything on Hopkins winning a decision there. Best middleweight, light-heavy and cruiserweight in the world? I can see it now.

I'm not surprised -- though the Pole is an incredibly hard bloke I'd pick Cunningham to outbox Tomasz in a rematch. It was only because the Septic somehow thought that he could dent Adamek that he lost, in my opinion. If he'd've kept up a consistent double jab I'd have fancied him to walk it.

I think Hopkins would outpoint Adamek in a horrible horrible maul. I'd much rather see Tomasz in with our own Enzo. Be a war that one.

Enzo-Adamek would be great. Enzo would have the faster hands and those nasty body shots and Adamek would have the much better chin and bigger right hand. Could go either way. If Adamek's right hand lands they'll be telling Enzo about the result in the changing room. If Enzo boxes like he can and uses his speed, Adamek could look like a right mess after 12 rounds.

Still, don't reckon Hopkins will end up getting the fight. He and King aren't on the best of terms. Not exactly the best fight for Adamek, i.e. defensive minded smaller man.

Adamek just beat Cunningham in a hard one, knocking him down 3 times, so let's give the Pole a bit of a break there.

Adamek-Wlodarczyk in Poland might be a good spectacle.

Would like to see Enzo get a shot at Adamek, technically speaking it might be a winnable fight.

Tomasz has always been the same, eating heavy shots, not good!
He is a warrior to say the least and enjoy watching him.

Yes, he was weight drained and bemused by Dason's southpaw style. Yet he persevered, dropped Dawson late and finished strong. A commendable performance, even in defeat. I hate to say it, but I wish Woods had shown some of that against Tarver, in a similar situation.

Adamek's 2 wars with Paul Briggs are massively underrated & well worth seeing. Has a good little KO of Thomas Ulrich as well.

Now he's shown he can beat a slick American fighter. Hope to see him cash in vs countryman Wlodarczyk (former IBF champ, 1-1 with Cunningham) in Poland perhaps; Cunningham rematch with more money in the pot on HBO or Showtime; or hot contender Alexander Alexeev. Don't want to see Hopkins get the assignment, not when guys like Cunningham need the title and the payday much more and will fight a much fiercer, crowd pleasing fight.

Er, dunno about that, but I just remember the way he used to go on about David Haye -- as hard as Adamek is & as straight as that right hand is, if Stevie flops to the canvas with such ease when taking a shot like that I think he'd be coming around about now if that was Haye landing one on him.

Really pleased for Adamek - he is such an unasuming looking guy outside of the ring (looks like a school teacher if you ask me) yet he is a blood and guts warrior when he steps between the ropes.

Cunningham can come again I am sure but for now it is Adamek's day in the sun

You have to feel for Cunningham though. This guy is the real road warrior, has a better calibre of performance than Glen Johnson away from home, and fights hard for what will hardly be gigantic purses, and risks falling completely off the radar if he loses a fight.

I think USS gave his 2 best performances in recent fights. The loss to Adamek and that superb stoppage of Huck. Before that, even in wins v Wlodarczyk (2nd bout), Guillermo Jones, Sebastian Rothmann and Kelvin Davis he wasn't as impressive.

Stevo never got the Haye fight he wanted, BUT he has just increased his marketability in defeat, and if he gets another crack at Adamek, it's for wide recognition as The Man at 200-pounds & there will hopefully be a Showtime or HBO to let these guys have a career best purse. In other words he may just have earned a bigger stage. The big boys aren't going to pay big money for Adamek v BJ Canvas or whatever his name is.

I felt Cunningham was so good vs Hook that he would never capture that form again. He does deserve another shot, but I'd like to see Adamek do what he wants, first.

For me Jones was the man at Cruiserweight not Cunnigham, Jones got shafted against Cunningham.

Cruiserweight is pretty exciting at the moment, I wouldn't say Mormeck and Bell are out of it, Huck and Fragomeni are leading the way in Europe - nice to see a little torunament (ala the 1986/1987 heavyweight torunament) maybe involving.

Cunnigham, Adameck, Jones, Enzo Mac, Wlodarczyk, Fragomeni, Huck, Banks.

Once we have an undisputed champion - then the likes of Bell and Mormeck can get in on the action.

But Stu, regardless of what we feel about the Ring belts, the #1 )Cunningham) and #2 (Adamek) squared off to determine the top man, fought an epic, and made a clear #1 perhaps.

Adamek had some easy stoppages at 200, but outclassed Bell and edged Cunningham. The champ for me. Cunningham - wins over Wlod, Rothmann, Davis, Huck -#2 IMO.

I don't see Guillermo Jones as the man. I felt he lost fairly to Cunningham (in a close-ish one) but GJ threw it away turning southpaw and fading late. Jones couldn't even make weight for their proosed rematch, pulling out of a Showtime date sick, and keeping both guys off major TV dates since. Jones did beat Arslan, but he has poor stamina and I can see him losing soon.

I reckon we'll see Macca go for Banks and perhaps Fragomeni - that way he'd be a unified champ, but it wouldn't mean as much as the Cunningham v Adamek fight.

My hoep is that Alexeev targets Adamek. Risk-reward works out well given Adamek's an ex light heavy who struggles with southpaw. Sadly AA isn't rated by the IBF

I aint too sure what Adamek has done to warrant the #2 ranking at Cruiserweight, I can understand Cunnigham being #1 - going by the actual decision. It is as if Mormeck has died.

I can see the argument, but it must have been dominating & stopping a former undisputed champ Bell & for keeping relatively busy (Cunningham was Adamek's 5th win since moving up last summer). That made Adamek the #2. Granted, I was a tad surprised when I heard they would be fighting for the vacant Ring belt but thinking about it, it makes sense.

Regardless, it's good to see an exceptional fight get a bit extra prestige.
