who do you think would have won??

Calzaghe - though it would have been similar to the Hopkins fight in terms of it being an ugly fight to watch and the judges favouring Joe's workrate over Graham's elusiveness.

Herol wins easily for me. The most underrated and best boxer from these shores for many many years.

Hmm, Sumbu Kalambay made Mike McCallum - a fighter vastly superior to Calzaghe - look silly. Possibly the best defence I've ever seen and one the best best counter-punchers - Kalambay.

Forget the $30million Hagler-Leonard scrap, and watch Graham-Kalambay and you'll see who the two best middleweights in the world were in 1987.

Jesus, Graham might be under-rated by the general public but on here it's Calzaghe who is consistently under-rated. While he wasted some of his peak years fighting stiffs , the fact remain that he's remained undefeated in world-class for a decade and that's virtually unheard of in the modern era. If he was American rather than British we'd be lauding him rather than pouring scorn on him.

Bomber raham was a very good boxer, so I predict that Joe would have avoided him................ til Graham was about 40 then he'd have beat him on points

Calzaghe too big surely. It's a light heavy vs a middle, or a super middle vs a light middle type of fight.

And the second fight with Kalambay Herol won rather easy but the fight was in Italy and you guys know the rest......and Herol dropped Brewer(i know he lost but it adds a bit of spice to the topic) twice something Calzaghe could not dp

What was the Graham v McCallum fight like?

I've never actually seen it as I was too young at the time and have never seen any DVDs, was it a close fight?

split decision Herol got a point off for turning him and that cost him a draw

its not a bad fight even a bit of toe 2 toe from herol

Graham gets way to much credit, he wasn't soley ducked and he did have world title chances and lost... he is spoken at times like he was the all and end all of British middleweights, he gets beat by his peers and he doesn't stand a hope in hell with the real British middleweight greats, Harvey (really a L-HW who passed through the MW division), Len Johnson, Jack Casey, Jock McAvoy, Bert Gilroy, Ginger Sadd and company!

I think Prime Graham is too skilled, too slick and fast enough to outbox Calzaghe. Calzaghe's workrate makes it closish but there's no doubt Graham would land the far better punches just like Hopkins and Jones is, the difference is Graham wouldn't be 40, would be in his prime and would handle the pace

Yes overrated boxers go 38-0 before losing a very disputable decision the could have gone either way to the great contender Kalambay, who was in his prime and would go 1-1 against McCallum himself. Then Graham would lose another disputed decision to a Prime McCallum, which some would say he was unfortunate not to get the verdict. This is the same McCallum who gave 1 sided beatings to Mike Watson and Steve Collins, remember the 2 that are 5-2 against Eubanks and Benn. Not to mention many say Graham completely schooled Eubanks in sparring and was avoided by Eubanks, Benn and Watson amongst others for a great period of his career

Calzaghe used to be a hard puncher & that fact coupled with the fact that he'd be the bigger & stronger fighter would lead me to conclude that Joe would have stopped Herol late on.

Herol was very elusive, but I couldn't see him landing enough punches to negate Calzaghe's workrate.

He was a very good fighter, but some people here are looking back through very rose tinted glasses at his career.

Yes he was very good, but to be brutally honest he was found wanting at the very highest level.

Benn and Eubank were not
