Bottom line is Hatton Does A Number On Pacquiao @ 140
Manny has gone up to 135 and beat a class C fighter in Diaz, he then goes up to 147 against a man who is 35 and never seen 147 in 7 years, he batters him and then everyone thinks he is the second coming of Jesus Christ!
Hatton is a natural 140 fighter and will dominate Manny, fill your boots at the 2/1 available!

P.S.
Re-mortgage your house and get it on Vitali to KO Haye at 8/11......these bets only come around every few years.

Pacquiao will probably rehydrate to only 2-4 lbs less than Hatton on fight night. I think it's a close fight until the mid-late rounds where Pacquiao takes over.

I think Vitali will KO Haye as well. I'm rooting for Haye all the way though.Hagler2002 wrote:P.S.

PACMAN will beat Hatton. Thats the bottom line I'm afraid.
The only reason this fight will happen is because memvers of team Hatton love $$$$ more than they value Ricky's well being IMO.
Otherwise it would not happen. Hatton is classic risk vs reward fighter.

I agree that people are overating Paqiuo's chances against Hatton. I do actually favour him to win, but only 60/40 in favour of the smaller man. I would not be surprised at all though if Hatton outworked and outgunned him. Great fight to look forward to if it ever comes off!!!
P.S. if you can get 8/11 on a Vitalli KO fill yer boots i say, get your lungs on Ebay, whatever it takes, because Haye is getting KTFO!

Manchester's Ricky Hatton could secure a dream fight with Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao next year in the States.
These two were linked after Hatton disposed of brash New Yorker Paulie Malignaggi in 11 clinical rounds in November in Las Vegas and, two weeks later, Pacquiao ended the career of Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya in eight stunningly one-sided rounds, also in Las Vegas.
Hatton is the No. 1 light-welterweight in the world and Pacquiao, now the No. 1 welterweight (and also the pound for pound No. 1) would rather drop down one division than back down to lightweight, where he was prior to De La Hoya. Everybody is happy, even De La Hoya, who will promote.
Hatton is a ticket-selling machine.
The chirpy 30-year-old can also fight a bit as he showed in dismantling cocky Paulie last November. "Magic Man" Malignaggi claimed that his ring "class" would more than handle the aggressive, relentless Hatton, whose defence is hardly watertight. In the event, in his first fight for celebrated American trainer Floyd Mayweather Senior, Hatton looked much the classier fighter of the two and picked off Malignaggi until enough was enough for Malignaggi's trainer Buddy McGirt, who hurled in the towel. In doing so Hatton went one better than Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto, who had failed to stop Malignaggi. It was Ricky's best display for quite some time.
Pacquiao is a cut above Maliganaggi (and many would argue he is a cut above Hatton), a southpaw with speed, boxing ability, power and experience, a modern boxing great. Manny proved his greatness with that victory over the much bigger De La Hoya. To recap, and it needs recapping, Manny jumped up two divisions to face Oscar at welterweight but made it look easy, pasting the one-time WBO middleweight champion from the start. Badly busted-up, badly beaten, De La Hoya finally bailed out on his stool. It was a massacre. I enjoyed it.
Trained by Freddie Roach out of Los Angeles, Pacquiao enjoys the moniker of "The Bruce Lee of Boxing" and it suits him perfectly. The 30-year-old looks sharp and pretty well unbeatable; he looks the part. Given that Hatton has a tendency to mark up and is also known to struggle with southpaws (Magee, Collazo, Urango...) - well, he will find himself a big betting outsider. The Americans have yet to be convinced by our Hitman.
Cold-eyed Ricky will enjoy the challenge, of course. His workrate, body punches and strength would have given him a shout even without Mayweather in his corner but the presence of Mayweather adds quality to his 'A' game. Plus, Hatton is strong and comfortable at light-welterweight, and you wonder if "Pac Man", having licked big Oscar, is now overly complacent about his weight-hopping. The 35-year-old De La Hoya, a pro since 1992, simply got 'old'.
Ultimately, one is splitting hairs and Malignaggi is right, after all. Class will tell. Pacquiao's class.

Hatton will smash Pacquiao, If DLH stood Infront of Hatton like that, then Ricky would win too.
Hatton Is too big for him.
Hatton Is too big for him.
Re: Bottom line is Hatton Does A Number On Pacquiao @ 140
This is a fairly even fight to me. Hatton has the natural strength and is a world class boxer as opposed to Pacman being truly elite. I think the biggest factor in this fight will be Hatton's vastly superior footwork. He'll be able to control the distance expertly which will take away Manny's speed advantage.
On first thoughts this is close to a pick em for me.

As long as Hatton can keep hold of mayweather snr. to train him - then I`d give him a very good chance ... maybe even put some money on him beating pacman.
How would Hatton have looked against that version of ODLH? ... as awesome as what Pacman did I`d imagine..

Re: Bottom line is Hatton Does A Number On Pacquiao @ 140
I'm not buying it. Forbes was pretty quick and Oscar lived with him comfortably, he just couldn't live with Pacquiao.
I dont think Oscar got old overnight either, he's been on the slide for years. I'll give you the weight making could have chipped away a little more, but it was Pacquiao who made him look an old man in there.
Manny's power travelled up well, extremely well, with little visible loss of speed. I'd be hard pushed to see Hatton not getting stopped because of his style, old or new.
If you want to talk about a previous opponent flattering a fighter, then the same could be said of Paulie.
It's a little harder to tell how 2 fighters will gel in the ring when they're at the level Pacquiao and Hatton are, but I just dont see Hatton a) being able to avoid getting hit flush, b) having the chin to endure the punches coming at him at a ridiculous speed and c) being able to fight anything remotely close to 'his' fight.
If he tries to bully Pacquiao, he loses early, if he tries to box Pacquiao he'll either be stopped mid-late rounds or lose a wide decision after taking a battering.

Pacquaio is a different breed. Ricky looked good v Paulie but this is an altogether different proposition.
Pacquaio punches far harder, is precise and has a better engine. I see him stopping Ricky late.
Re: Bottom line is Hatton Does A Number On Pacquiao @ 140
Do people remember that straight left Pac kept hitting DLH with all night? Hatton would eat that too.
Re: Bottom line is Hatton Does A Number On Pacquiao @ 140
Hatton is a sucker for any punch coming at him, he gets by by mauling and shear physicality. I think Pacquaio has the lateral movement and fast hands to negate that. I don't give Hatton a very good chance of winning at all. Then again I'm not Hatton's biggest fan.

Don't like agreeing with the Iron Lotus on anything, but he's spot on both tips. ![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

Hello skanksta me old mucker
Re: Bottom line is Hatton Does A Number On Pacquiao @ 140
Why do people think hatton will do a number on the PAC-MAN because the boxing ability between the two is very big. People that think Pac-Man is just a slugger aint been watchin him for the past few years. To say Hatton has better boxing abilities and better footwork than PAC-MAN is an insult as Hatton is far to easy to hit. He is also alot slower than Manny and doesnt move his head at all, no matter what Mayweather says.
The Paulie fight was a joke as he has been going down for years. What Manny did to DLH was far more impressive than what Hatton did to Paulie. I think Hatton gets far too much credit as he needs to prove he is the king at 140 first. How can he be in the P4P rankings when he has beaten no-one in the current top 10. I think Paul Williams deserves his spot and Haye also as he was a fully unified champ having beaten some decent opposition.

Hatton would have done the same to DLH as what Pacquiao did, I think there has been a massive overreaction to what happened in that fight.

Why are you so down on Pac-man, Hagler?
Re: Bottom line is Hatton Does A Number On Pacquiao @ 140
I think Hagler is just pointing out that Pac has just destroyed a man about 10 years past his prime before people get too carried away

I'm not, I like him a lot but people seem to be getting carried away with him knocking out Diaz and beating a fighter who was past it and dead at the weight.Captain Hook wrote:Why are you so down on Pac-man, Hagler?
Remember it was only in March of this year that many thought he got beat off Marquez, the point I'm trying to make is I don't think the 2 fighters he has fought over the 130lb limit prove he can mix it with a naturally bigger man who is extremely talented and strong at the weight.
Re: Bottom line is Hatton Does A Number On Pacquiao @ 140
The optimists, dreamers and the blind always come out of the woodwork for Hatton. Fact is all logic points to him getting his arse kicked and that's whats going to happen in my opinion.harry100 wrote:Why do people think hatton will do a number on the PAC-MAN because the boxing ability between the two is very big.
