Rocky Katsidis is to fight Angel Hugo Ramirez in the Philippines in late January.

Ramirez is from Argentina and has a record of 19-4-2 and is registered as a super feather.

Katsidis needed a win, but i think this will be too easy for Rocky, however I'm glad he's back.

Why the Philippines?

He wants to fight Pac Man.

That does seem like a strange move

I think this is a good match up for Katsidis.
After the wars he has had with Amonsot, Casamayor and Diaz, he is due for an easy fight.

I am just glad he is not fighting an Argie

Main Event will be showing this live so at least we will get to see it.

He is an Argie based in Spain.

Not sure this should be PPV. It will need an awesome undercard.

I like the fight but i wouldn't buy it as a ppv. it's a stay busy fight. As in Mundine v Argentina

Watched this last night, Katsidis won by scores of 96-89 twice and 98-87.
I thought the 98-87 was the correct one, as Katsidis dropped The Arg in the 2nd and 3 times in the 4th after this the arg went into survival mode and ran for 5 rounds but every now and then landing with overhand rights flush on rockys head.

Not a fantastic performance, and not really sure if he's learnt anything from his 2 loss'.
I also don't think his cornerman is helping him get to where he's suppose to, and kind of lacks any real boxing advice between rounds.

I hear Katsidis is to fight Julio Diaz in April, will be a tough fight for Katsidis.
Any thoughts?

Katsidis went the distance with Juan Diaz.

Juan Diaz stopped Julio Diaz in 9.

I think Katsidis can win it.

I've been very reliably informed that Katsidis will return home for a big fight around April/May. He wont be fighting Julio Diaz.

The fight will be in either Brisbane or Melbourne and will be underwritten by Sportsbet and another big company. It will be against a top rated guy and definately not a tune up.

Also, Hattons camp enquired about fighting Katsidis when the Pac negotiations stalled.

Mick hurt his hand in rd 2 last night which plagued him somewhat throughout the fight.

might explain some of the inaction periods later in the fight as the other guy kept his distance a fair bit.
