Does Frank Maloney hate Martin Power?

Why was Power matched against his last three opponents: Munyai (rematch), Napa and Davis?
He doesn't seem to be being looked after very well.

Power was stopped early in his last loss, he did however seem to be a little out of shape and was losing the fight, hence he more than Maloney is to blame for that loss. Napa and Munyai were fellow Maloney fighters aswell so those match ups made sense, of course Munyai wasn't in the first fight but he was a late replacement in that fight and was completely unknown.
From the way Maloney had his arm around Power talking to him after he had changed into his clothes it looked like he really sympathised for Power(as a fighter) and not just because he lost a promotional opportunity with Power's loss. I certainly don't think he hates him.

It was Power who wanted to go straight in against Munyai.

I think Frank Maloney has done extremely well for Martin Power - despite the defeats Frank has given Martin another go and another so looking at it that way - I think you are a stupid **** for posting this thread.

Of course Power is not blameless for his recent defeat. But should he have been put in with such a live opponent, after a year out of the ring and on the back of three straight defeats?

Yes those fights made sense for Maloney, but did they make sense for Power? I think he needed a few comeback wins before stepping back in with top fighters like those.

Yeah, I doubt Maloney actually hates Power. But does he really have his best interests at heart?

I don't think Maloney should have let him though. Power still had the British title at that time and could have rebuilt with that.

No need for the potty mouth Spud. Do you really think that it was in the best interests of Martin Power to match him so tough after his defeat to Munyai?

Horse your thread is f*cking stupid in my opinon - Frank Maloney in my opinion looks after his fighters in the best way he can - he gives them chance after chance sometimes when they do not deserve it and in addition he gives his fighters much needed paydays - and by matching them tough and in TV fights it ups the money for the fighter as well and puts food on the table.
I have had many rucks with Frank over the years - but the one thing for certain is that he looks after his fighters - so I will emphasise my point that you are a stupid **** for posting this thread - if people and you disagree with that I have no problems - but just look at your title - what a stupid ****.

Spud, Spud, Spud.
Let me give you a little insight here.
The title is a little harsh but a better title would be "does F Maloney care".
The answer to that would be a big round, fat NO.
You can tell from his interviews (tv and print) that to tiny Frank the boxers are just a tool.
Who wins and loses? One things for sure, he does not care!

So, you do think that matching Power tough was the right thing to do? Four losses in a row will surely be hard to come back from.
I would have thought that by taking less money now and picking up a win; it would be better for him in the long run when he can make more money at British, Commonwealth or European level, instead of losing in a comeback fight against a relative unknown.

Horse my dear boy, did you not read my post?
If Maloney has Davies signed up then why would he care? Answer: he won't!

What about the fighter simply not having it anymore Horse? no disrespect to Martin but quite simply whoever Frank put him in with perhaps - he just grew tired over night and he was going to lose to whoever Frank matched him with - it happens time and time again in boxing!!!

Your right i dont think it would'nt of mattered who i fought, I was absolutely Shit on thursday night, just didnt get into it, Nothing more can be said. Have been fighting for 17years and that was the worst Performance by a 100 mile..
The kid was big and strong was nearly a stone heavier on the night, maybe i could of got an easier fight for being out of the ring for over a year but i should of been beating the likes of Davis not taking anything away from him...
I Dont think Frank dislike's me, its buisness and money at the end of the day...

Are you still intending to carry on boxing?
And did Davis shout at you after the fight or what?

Davis screamed like a little bitch after the fight, no offence to the guy but what he did after the fight was uncalled for.
I wouldn't have minded if he ran up to a ring post and did it to the crowd but his jeers seemed to be directed at Power and just showed a lack of class.

Shame to hear you are thinking of quitting Martin.
Still, you have been involved in a fair few tear ups over the years, both Am and Pro!
I remember you fighting a mate of mine back in the day, John Convey.
Little John was always the man looking on when you and Foster Jnr were having your Am rivalry, he just couldn't quite match you two.I think I'm right in saying he lost out to one of you two for 2-3 years on the trot in the ABA's.
Still, hopefully things will go better for you next time out.
