Great interview with Kaylor in this months issue. Well done Glyn and the team. I think the where are they now works really well.

Surprised to see Mark didnt rate Herol as world class, which he of course was. But Mark did rate Tony Sibson as world class, which I agree he was. This leads me to recall Sibson's comments when asked if he would fight Graham, he said it would be like fighting a bloody limbo dancer.

Anyway, nice to see Mark doing so well.

Noticed that the photo in the book review refers to Ray Arcel when it is actually Freddie Brown to the right of Duran. Nitpicking, but otherwise a very good issue this month.

I'm going to get it as Kaylor was a compelling fighter. A real tough guy with an eventful career that ppl were interested in. Am into Kaylor at the moment and have just ordered FIGHTERS / REAL MONEY on DVD.

I've always been a Kaylor fan & I have to concur with the notion that it's good to see him doing OK.

I watched Kaylor fight once, against a classy Brummie by the name of Glen McEwan at the Albert Hall in 1983. McEwan had all the moves and could mess a young kid around.
Mark just blew him away.

I'd like to hear about some of the lightweights from the late '90s. There were so many great fights involving guys like Neary, Rigby, Dunne, Schwer, Ayers, etc. I would love to hear what these guys are up to now because they have been in some of the most memorable British fights I've seen. It was a time of fake titles really, but if they made extra money in all out warfare then they deserved it.

Got mine last week. Great stuff.

I had the pleasure of seeing Kaylor spar at my amateur club many moons ago when he was on the up and take another of my senior clubmates out in couple of rounds on a dinner show at the Connaught Rooms. He was a stiff handed mentally tough upright fighter right out of the West Ham amateur tradition. Kevin Mitchell reminds me of Kaylor in a lot of ways.

He had a memorable and good career. Apparently he pissed alot of people off from what I've heard and turned a lot of the substantial support he had off him.

Awesome fights with Christie and Gumbs. Even though he lost most of his title fights, those 2 wins are excellent high points.

Yep great to hear about Kaylor, he was a real warrior. SticknMove is right, he does remind you a lot of Mitchell, in style and personality a well.

Agreed.

The Christie fight is one of my top 5 personal favourite fights ever.

Kaylor had a good few fights as good as that too.

He was a real entertainer, win lose or draw.
