No fights are listed for January in Australia, a sport that is all year round surely couldn't be taking a month off.

If anyone knows anything let us know.

Not unusual for OZ. Promoters feel there wouldn't be enough $$$$$ around after the festive season to support the shows.
Plus it takes a while to get the lads back into training. In addition, all New South Wales licences expire on 31st December of each year, so they need medicals to re-register.

So it's safe to say no fights in January. I'm sure over the last couple of years there's been some.

Yep!

Last year the first show was on Feb 1
2007 & 2006 had couple of shows in last week of January

That's a pretty good start to the year, i hope the fights will the fights be televised?

Im hearing whispers of Perth kicking off the new year with Daniel Dawson and a great local undercard on Feb 1.

I hope so Regmeister. Hopefully there are a lot of Boxing fights, as opposed to 1 or 2 boxing and the rest Muaythai.

Not that i dont like Mauythai as it is a great sport to watch also i just much prefer Boxing.

Looks like a decent card:
Daniel Dawson, Eric DeMori, Andrew Green, Johnny Krishna, Robbie Bryant and Romesh Fernando making his pro debut.

Few decent boys out west by the sounds of things.

By whom? Geale sure as hell couldn't. You might be getting confused though Lowie, he does tend to KO others...perhaps that is what you meant.

Dawson is possibly fighting Ariel Aparicio whom he was supposed to fight late last year. The Argentian pulled out of the fight through injury if i remeber correctly.

Geale - Soliman won't happen. Geale is negotiating to challenge Arthur Abraham in Germany in March (according to the Sauerland camp) - and will get KOd. He's a good boxer but Abraham will be too persistent.

Just keep watching the Schedule.
