Happened quite a while ago and shows why white collar boxing is bollocks despite what people say.

By all accounts Cracknall isn't the nice fella in the world and quiet a few had a sly smile when he was done.

There were even plans in pipeline a few years ago for him to train alongside Audley and have a pro fight, with the BBC following him for a fly on the wall type show.

Bit harsh fella. I actually thought the Kiwi looked pretty good given it was his first ever bout - good jab and decent enough footwork/balance.
As for Cracknell, his level of self-delusion makes me laugh. Check this out - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/others ... -fall.html

Clearly blames it on being outweighed and claims he was ahead on points at the time :o
He couldn't even punch properly and it was clearly a mismatch from the first punch so quite how he believes that is beyond me.

I dont think it was that guys 1st bout, i have heard he had quite an extensive amateur background when he was a teenager.
Wasn't he a professional cricketer?

Cracknell fought like you would expect a public schoolboy to fight - running into punches like he is the first to go 'over the top' in the trenches. As for the 'Ali, Fraizer and Foreman' quote - what do you expect his old man to say to his son after getting knocked out 'you got well laid out you useless bum!'

I think all celebrity boxers (that means you Ben Sheppard  ) should get in with 'the man' Mal Meninga - who would have done to Kerry Walmsley what Walmsley did to Cracknell!

I actually sparred Cracknell a couple of times, and can confirm his chin is less than sturdy. But he was perfectly reasonable and seemed decent (though you can't judge off a couple of conversations.)

I think people just dislike a pretty boy, especially one that is posh. You have to respect he actually got in there, especially as he was risking a hiding (and got abrief if violent one.)

ANyway the problem with this show is that they matched big men who are actually athletes. Even big men who can't box can land a haymaker and cause damage.

That KO is terrible - and they interview him a minute later when he should be seeing the doctor.

THe show also had the huge Syd LAwrence bombing out some guy and battering him after the ref had stepped in - and Lawrence had a least a handful of amateur fights. A recipe for disaster.
