Just to let people know the "Thrilla in Manilla" documentary that was on a month or so ago is repeated tonight on More4 at 10pm.

Definitly worth a watch if u hadnt seen it last time .

What's it about?

Pretty much as the title suggests its about the Thrilla in Manilla between Frazier and Ali.

Told from Fraziers point of view rather than Ali's.

Its part of the documentary series " True Stories ".

Never heard of it.

What a great documentary, really thorough, unlike so many of its genre. A lot of his supposed greatness is tarnished by some of his actions at the time, which seen to have been forgotten by many, though not by this documentary.

Two questions I have - where did all Frazier's money go? and secondly, does anyone agree with me that Ferdie Pacheco is a wretched individual? HE came across as know it all and very arrogant, much like his commentaries. Anyone who has listened to his commentary on Benn-McClellan would concur I suspect.

Agree it was a very good documentary. Like another post said , its repeated tonight on ch4


Think Frazier might hav invested in property which didnt do to well and ended up losing alot of money . But not realy sure wot happened to all the cash he earned. .

Anyone know wot happend to Fraziers millions??

What was he saying during the Benn/McClelland fight?

It was good documentary, but incomplete witout Ali's right of reply.

Very good documentary, It was new to me that ali wanted out and the decisive factor was futch. What a warrior fraizer was. Does anyone know if they now have eye exams before fights? Frazier done remarkably well over his career with almost only one eye.

Good Documentry, but very very Bias, i cannot believe they did not even get Ali or someone from Ali's side to respond.

The closest they got was i think his brother insisting Frazier should finally just forgive Ali, especially when Ali apologized

yes its a little one eyed (excuse the pun) but hey it has to take one stance or the other or risk being wishy washy I guess. Ferdie P came across a right know it all tit.

I think that ever since that fight frazier has been very bitter and has not moved on in some ways. I feel he thinks he won that fight. He really has clung on to that night. I found it sad to hear his voicmail.
Ali really went over the top with the abuse he gave to Frazier and if that fight were happening now I would most definitely taken Frazier side. Are there any fighters of today who give out such hurtful and discusting abuse?
There are some and the only one that comes near in my opinion is mayorga

great documentary well worth staying up til after one on a schoolnight.
Really made me question the logic/ intelligence of the idea of ever fighting 15 rounds in the first place. If Frazier was right saying 130 degrees then that's 50 degrees celcius !!! that's seriously warm to be fighting at any sort of decent level for that long.
No bloody wonder Ali didn't want to come out for the last.....especially after the beating he laid on in the 14th, which must have been extremely draining. Just crazy.
Hopefully there will be a repeat of this for anyone who didn't see it.
Also got to say I was a mazed to hear from the trainer, Futch was it?? who had had 8 (eight!) fighters die on him during fights. At times sombre, sobering but very absorbing TV.
