Jones/DM almost made around 2001/2. Pretty even fight by that point, but you have to favor Jones.

Oscar a bad style matchup for Tszyu anytime. Fight was in the queue had KT made it past Ricky.

Tito did beat Pea at the appropriate time.

In 95 Pea was lucky to escape McGirt with a bum shoulder and Ike untested. Toss the dice.

Ingo would've KOed Rocky, but Rocky no longer Rocky, so not a fair fight. Ingo a much better fighter than credited because his career was so short.

Roy Jones Jr. vs Evander Holyfield -- 2003

Mayweather-Cotto, 2007 - Mayweather UD. I just don't see where Cotto has an edge anywhere, save power.

Jones-Michalczewski, 1998 - Roy by a mid round KO.

De La Hoya-Tszyu, 1997 - Tszyu KO1

Whitaker-Trinidad, 1995 - Interesting here, but Whitaker by decision.

Tough to say, considering Oscar's sparse resume at 140. Not to mention, his power wasn't as evident the higher he climbed through the divisons. Tszyu spent his whole career in one divsion, and his hands stayed heavy until the end.

i dont think anyone was a bigger hitter than tszyu at 140

Tszyu was a big puncher, but he wasn't, say, the 140lb-equivalent of a Hearns, Jackson or Foreman. He had what I would call KO-lesser-opponents early type power, & grind down most world-class opponents slightly within the distance (not unlike Felix Trinidad?). De La Hoya seemed to spark guys quicker, but, as TF states, he was there for such a short time, it's difficult to give him loads of credit, even if he appeared a great puncher for the short time he was there. De La Hoya's power faded a fair bit (not massively, but a fair bit) as he moved up, but we never saw Tszyu move, so we can't assume his power would've stayed the same, either. De La Hoya is naturally the bigger man, after all (Tszyu would never have been comfortable at 154, as De La Hoya once was/is).

I think it's close, & difficult to say, thinking about it. De La Hoya looked the more explosive hitter to me, but he doesn't have the lasting proof Tszyu produced at this weight.

Mayweather-Cotto, 2007 - Mayweather by UD, why he never took this bout I will never know.

Jones-Michalczewski, 1998 - Michalczewski was actually a better fighter than he was ever given credit for but for me Jones in his prime widely outpoints DM.

De La Hoya-Tszyu, 1997 - As a big fan of both fighters this is a tough one, the 140lb DLH was very quick so I'd take him to win the fight by a late stoppage but he may have had to get off the canvas to do so.

Whitaker-Trinidad, 1995 - Whitaker by a close(possibly controversial) decision, Pernell was definitely on the slide by then while Tito was on the way up in devastaing style.

Whitaker-Quartey, 1995 - Similar to the above fight.

Hagler-Leonard, 1982 - Hagler was too much for anyone around this time, Hagler TKO12.

Johansson-Marciano, 1960 - Johansson by KO, Marciano was inactive for 5 years.
