Somewhat of a contradiction though that he is taking about world champion ambitions and is being lined up to fight.... Daniel Peret, a bog standard journeyman in a fight that will advance Chisora's career little if nothing.

Not meaning to knock him, but it seems that boxers want to win world titles now by talking about it, rather than fighting and beating quality opposition.

What is it with British prospects talking about world titles before they've even tested themselves at domestic level?

Exactly.

Well nothing wrong with a bit of self belief, he's already been given a couple of tests in his career and past them, he's not saying anything that any other young unbeaten heavyweight doesn't say.

Got him a few column inches in a paper, its just publicity.

That's what it's about. If he says he's planning on becoming a World Champion people take a lot more notice than if he says he's planning on becoming a British Champion.

But does that stuff ever really work? It certainly didn't get Audley good publicity and Audley beat some better opponents in his first 8 fights.

Fair enough, but then they mention in his next fight he is fighting ... Daniel Peret. The article, and his claims, would have been much better supported if it could have included a better, more "hype-able" opponent for his next fight.

Ie.. " Chisora faces his next big step when he takes on former title challenger..." Ok, its only fight number 9, but still...

To be fair, he is talking about a title in three years, so while he is beimg ambitious (which is to be expected) , he's not claiming he's the next big thing yet.



Might have to drop a couple of bra sizes in those three years, though.

chisora potentially is an exciting prospect but is he good enough for world level probably needs to beat 2 or 3 of following(Williams , Harrison , Sprott , Skelton , Macdermott , Gammer , Rogan ) , before would be given any notice to the higher levels

I hope Warren doesn't start protecting him to much, so far in Chisora's career he's had a few tests, maybe Warren didn't believe in him that much and thought he'd find out if the guy could fight.
Having proved he's got potential maybe Warren wants to protect instead of developing him with good match-ups.

Daniel Peret is a marktime type of opponent, Chisora won't learn too much here, but will get some TV time out of it.
Hope to see him taking on some good opposition by the middle of this year, maybe a couple of americans.

Why not Cliff Couser? He seems keen to get a bout!

Del Boy is a genuine Euro prospect.

he started under the radar at the beginning with Warren but has matured quickly into a very intelligent boxer and pressure fighter.

HE IS STILL A NOVICE

he has a win over the current prizefighter sexton

Peret is a journyman who comes to survive...most go the distance

if Del boy turns up the heat look for a stoppage in 3

Reminds me a lot of Sam Peter in that he's big, fat, ugly and lazy but he can't half whack.
