"Legend" next for Amir Khan
A "multiple world champion" will be announced as the next opponent for Amir Khan at a press conference on Thursday.
The Commonwealth lightweight champion will be having his second bout since being knocked out in 54 seconds by Breidis Prescott last September. He stopped Oisin Fagan in two rounds in London last month and returns in March. Those close to allegedly are staying tight-lipped about the opponent, but I have been told it is a "modern-day legend" and a "multiple world champion". Nicky Cook, the WBO super-featherweight champion, Enzo Maccarinelli and Kevin Mitchell, who has been out of action since last June after having a hand operation. Khan is to train for the bout at Freddie Roach's Wildcard gym in Hollywood and is due to fly out at the weekend.

That was my first thought, but I can't see Warren going ahead with that. Maybe they'll pretend the fight's on until the last minute, in true Warren style.

Off the top of my head, how about Medina?

But can you imagine the sell? Legend, beat Naz (you know, the other Asian guy Khan is always compared too), past his prime, small at the weight, well known to the British public, Roach trains Pac who beat Barrera, definite PPV.
It ticks a lot of boxes

Considering the Roach angle - maybe its Eric morales, Roach knows his style inside out .. :(

Barrera would probably still beat Khan at this late stage, it's not as if he's been KO'd recently and his last 2 losses were to the worlds best fighters

Seriously doubt it'll be MAB or EM.

He was my first thought, but after going through his record he only won 1 World title.
Manuel Medina is a good shout and a FW favourite, plus he's 38, he'd be moving up in weight and looks to be on the slide (KO'd twice in his last 4), so I reckon it's gotta be him

I so hope it isn't Medina, he's a boxer who i have huge respect for, but he is completly shot.
His last fight against Klassen wasn't pretty to watch, Medina didn't have any punch resistance at all.
Kevin Kelly is still able to operate at a decent level, so wouldn't be the worst opponent.
The other name not mentioned could be Jesus Chavez.

I think he will beat them both now but will instead be protected by fighting imports, Scott Harrison is a multiple world champion!

It's interesting how many of the names put forward are old Naseem Hamed foes.

Yeah I'd be picking Amir to beat both in 2 excellent contests, I just hope we get to findout sooner rather than later.
I think Scott is still licenceless

I doubt it would be Barrera or Kelley. Their still good despite being way passed it.
Well it's W@rren you're talking about, and we know (referingto Joe Cal) How much he can hype up a pointless bout.
Better to just wait and see, forget it for now
