You went to a boxing show and a muay Thai fight started and finished the show you were going to. Would you get there early or stop late to watch it ? Just asking because most shows are empty to start and finish with. A bit more interest to jazz up a boxing show i think

I think alot of people would be turned off to be honest mate (myself included and I have been in martial arts/kickboxing since the age of 8!)

Muay Thai is generally fought at a slower pace with a lot of messy looking grappling in close and less 'slickness' then you see in western boxing, certainly in my experinces (going back to Master Sken shows in the late 80s).

It is an acquired taste, for the most part.

I think boxing fans would be far more likely to appreciate a K1 Max type match where the clinching was limited and the pace was closer to the pace pro boxing is fought at.

I'd purposely get their late and leave early if the boxing was wrapped with Muay Thai....... I just don't like all that kicking malarky (it's cheating)

Id do the same thing, iv been to shows and the beggining rappers and dancer's came on

Think it was one of the Shows Johnatha Phelps was promoting, was also at one of his show at the equinox night club in Liecester Sq when the ring card girls was toppless

Have been teaching muay thai for 15 years,takeing fighters to shows all over the country and have to say your post is spot on
k-1 (max)or even superleague is far more viewer friendly and the scoring easier to underststand.
There are hundereds of thai/kickboxing shows a year in the uk with crowds anything up to a couple of thousand but most of these people train in it or are there to support someone that does whereas boxing can attract people who are just fans of the sport.
have to say though the shows have come on along way since those earlier Sken shows and the atmospheres can be electric.
On that note though I believe they do run a lot of mixed shows
in Thailand and Australia.
