This is one of the reasons i don't like the ufc, the way Dana shites on the whole time. Look at some of his other videos . He is very childish. Brian peters dosent have much charisma at all. He is what in Ireland we would call a gobshite imo.

Wow, Dana White comes across as such a jerk. Belittling the people who work for him and grandstanding for his little camera all the time.

In 2007, Wayne McCullough joined the Ultimate Fighting Championship organisation as a PR Associate and travels around the world helping to promote the sport of MMA.

They treated him really well. Even gave him his own photoshoot for Promo purposes that he uses on his facebook page.

Dana White has earned the right to act the way he does. He and his two partners took a bankrupt company and made it what it is. You see how hard he works and plays in those blogs (which can be a bit contrived) and good luck to him. What other CEO (or President) is so free of corporate bullsh1t? He tells it as he sees it and f*ck anyone who he offends. I like that. He also makes a lot of time for the fans (obviously in his interest to but you don't see Oscar De La Hoya doing anything like that).

Whit has earned the right to act like an @rsehole? He comes across as a completely typical American, corporate knob, who thinks his piles of money make him really cool. There was one scene in there when he acts to a fighter like he is giving him a real gift to give him a fight, almost making him beg him for it. I would hope the fighters that earn him all his money are treated with more respect. And if he gets them to agree to fights on camera, you can guarantee that they have no negotiating rights.

Imagine if a boxing promoter gave a boxer a take it or leave it offer for a fight on camera, in front of a crowd without discussing money?

As a boxing fan, it's probably hypocritical of me to say this: I find the UFC crowds largely barbaric. I know a few guys who go to the shows, and they're completely non-violent, decent people, but that unwanted element of fans appears more prevalent in the UFC to me.

It's a threatening, juiced-up atmosphere. Bit too much testosterone about. Most of the boxing events I've been to have been far friendlier and less like a nightclub from Hell.

MEN, O2 and Newcastle Arenas all reported that UFC crowds were way better behaved than boxing crowds. A fact all the more impressive seeing as UFC outdrew boxing in all arenas.

The advantage the UFC would have on that basis is that it seems the keep the fans in their seats for longer, whereas too many boxing shows have home fighter v Peter Buckley loser type which keeps most fans in the bars getting drunk.

I was actually at UFC in Dublin at the weekend and there was a Q & A before the weigh ins with Wayne and the UK UFC fighter Michael Bisping. Wayne was asked about Barry as they were both on a radio show over here debating UFC and he said that Barry called him a traitor and that he had deserted Boxing, Wayne said how can you not follow both. He also said that growing up he saw McGuigan as his hero but he said after Barry has acted over this to him he can do without having a hero

Yeah, reading my post back, it does sound a little head-in-the-sand. There's been more crowd violence in boxing than probably any other contact sport. And it does attract its fair share of Juiced Johnnys, as well.

My problem with UFC is the way skill is deployed. I'm not claiming there is no skill - far from it, but it's a raw form of fighting. I'd enjoy it a lot more if the ref stopped most of the ground-and-pound, but that's the nature of MMA. The pursuit of physical damage doesn't entertain me, regardless of whether it's truer to a street fight.

The thing I like about boxing is that you have to stand up to the other guy if you're losing. You can't just take the opponent to ground (hug him instead!), so I think we see more psychology.

Funny, over at the UK MMA boards, they are always threads about the latest boxing news and fights and no-one ever posts "take this boxing crap elsewhere"... Boxing is in such a flap about rise of UFC it is plain weird.

It's a threatening competitor I suppose. We may be getting some big fights but boxing is definately in a mess and people are afraid for it's future. I think some people find ufc vulgar as well, I do, I'm not interested in it. No'one will ever call ufc "the noble art"

well ive been to a few cant say it does much for me. Ground work is far too tedious for my liking.

Fedor is a great talent, but he has been fighting has-beens and freaks for 4 years and counting now. Penn and GSP are two fo the 4 best pound-for-pound fighters on the planet, fighting each other,

Fedor is the MMA version of racing driver Michael Andretti. Andretti won IndyCar title 8 times, was unbeatable, but when he stepped into the big league - F1 - he was completely out of his depth. He soon realised that beating a few aged F1 has-beens in Indycar was one thing, beating the current F1 racers - in their prime, race in race out - was beyond him. I would love to see what Fedor could do in UFC, but lot of people - Kevin Iole, Dave Meltzer and others - are asking why the alleged best won't go to where he can fight the best.

And if you think Arlovski (KO'd 5 times before Saturday), Slyvia (beaten by four guys currently in UFC), freak Hong Man Chi (nuff said) and faded _middleweight_ Matt Lindland (KO'd by one punch at middleweight Saturday) represent better opposition than GSP's last opponents: Josh Koscheck, Matt Hughes, Matt Serra, Jon Fitch and now BJ Penn or Penn's last opponents: Jens Pulver, Joe Stevenson, Sean Sherk and next up GSP you must has shares in Fedor.[/quote]
