TYSON FURY TO FIGHT OPPONENT WITH 21 – 3 RECORD WITH 20 KO’S IN JUST SECOND PRO FIGHT

Tyson Fury, British boxing’s biggest new star, has taken on a risky second professional fight at the Robin Park Arena in Wigan on Saturday, 17th January against an opponent who has won 20 of his 21 wins by stoppage with only three losses.

Former ABA champion Fury (Manchester) made an excellent debut when he stopped Bela Gyongyosi with a body shot in the first round in Nottingham last month.

The 6feet 8 ½ inch 20-year-old continues his march towards global recognition when he boxes Marcel Zeller (Germany) on the undercard of John Murray (Manchester) against Lee McAllister (Aberdeen) for the British Lightweight Title on a Hennessy Sports show that ITV4 will televise live from 7.40pm.

Zeller might be far more experienced than big-hitting Fury, but the Manchester star is convinced he is ready for the task.

"I want to take on good opponents because I believe I’m good enough and there’s no point in hanging around," said Tyson.

"Obviously my promoter Mick Hennessy is not going to put me in with a world champion just yet, but I’m confident in my own ability and what I can achieve so that’s why I believe I can beat the likes of Zeller (21-3).

"I was happy enough with my pro debut but I only had a couple days notice for it because I had just come back off honeymoon, but I’ve prepared a lot better for this one."

Promoter Mick Hennessy is convinced of Fury’s potential to go all the way after signing the former amateur star last year.

"You don’t get 20 knockouts like Zeller has if you can’t punch but I believe if Tyson stays focused he will become a mega star and a genuine world heavyweight champion in the future," said Mick. "It's refreshing when someone says to you he wants to fight better opponents to the ones you are coming up with, but obviously I'm going to have to rein him in a bit."

Tickets can be purchased on the night at the Robin Park Arena.

Just as long as this dude isn't five stone lighter than Fury then I'm happy.

Zeller looks to be a KO or be KO'd type of boxer, can't complain about him as Tysons 2nd fight.
I expect some will have a moan on here

His record suggests that this is a bold move, a move which I applaud.

Well done Mick, you must have faith in young Tyson.

I like this guy, nice bloke, good skills and when he's in shape I can see him being a force, at least going onto British level, probably European.

We'll see.

Dude is 6'1 so I doubt Fury will at any point feel his 'knockout' power

20 ko's in 21 wins, although the oppositions hasn't been the strongest, it shows that Zeller knows how to knock out people, he's a dangerous guy for a young pro to take on in only his 2nd fight

A very surprising match to make for Fury at this stage :o . You rarely see this sort of match making for a heavyweight prospect.

I can't fault the ambitious nature of Fury and Hennessy, I applaud it, but I fail to see why there is such a rush in moving Fury along.

Credit to Hennessy for such a competative booking- well done. I'm looking forward to this show.

That said, could late notice be an issue for Zeller?

I've seen Zeller fight a few times. He'll definitely come to "have a go" at Tyson. Credit to Tyson and co for taking the fight in only in his second fight. But I expect a Tyson win in three rounds.

Great to see this kind of matchmaking. Zeller looks like a guy who always comes in shape and his record will look great on Fury's, provided Fury wins. It's very reassuring that, by the sounds of it, Fury is asking for the toughest challenge Hennessy feels comfortable giving him. I'm really looking forward to watching it. :D

This is the sort of matchmaking we would never see from allegedly. The game would be more exciting if other promoters took gambles with their fighter the way Hennessy has done.

Impressive match-up, good yard stick and should he lose, it won't exactly damage his career at this stage. He's got fighting in the blood and talent.
