Some people on here talk of the Sun newspaper as the devil and if you read it you are either unemployed or the lowest of the low, I read the Sun on a Regular basis mainly for the sport, they usually break the biggest stories along with SS news. If i want a deep and meaningful read then i pick up a book (or borrow 1 from Old bones Ian) but for a 5min read it's ok.

I was raised to hate The Sun but I take any newspaper with a pinch of salt.

Fair enough, still the Sun is no worse than any other newspaper.

I'm not from Liverpool and I hate them for it too. Plus they give a twat a soap box to preach from.

That aside I don't like it when people judge you based on the paper you read.

The UK is a shithole through no fault of the Sun newspaper though or the Mirror, papers like the Telegraph and the Guardian on the odd time i read them (if the newsagent has ran out of Sun's ) i find very depressing and racist a lot of the time it's all doom and gloom.

I think the Sun reflects the shit part of our society, whether it is a product of or whether it contributes I don't know?

I find the Guardian more depressing than racist, if you read the Guardian everyday you would be scared to leave the house, Britain is full of Paedo's, Immigrants, Rapists, criminals we know but we don't want to rammed down are throats everyday.

I read The Times, or have a look at the Independent now and again, find both a good read.

Read the Independent, its world news coverage is very good.

Scaremongering is the biggest crime of the tabloids.

Terrorism - Less chance of a bomb going off today than 20 years ago

Immigration - Apparently foreigners come over here to scrounge benefits and steal our jobs

Privacy - They go on about the importance of privacy and then proceed to print what Max Mosley gets up to in his bedroom.

Computer games - apparently all computer games make you want to go out steal a car and cut off a prostitutes head, computer games cause crime, I'm sorry but what games did Jack the Ripper and Hitler play to inspire their crimes.

I don't 'hate' the Sun as such, it just holds no interest for me.

What it deems as news isn't really on my radar nor I would suspect that of anyone with an IQ bigger than their foot size.

Independent is my favourite for the same reason.....apparently it's in financial trouble, so it may not be around a whole lot longer.

Yeah how funny was it when he posted his bank details last give with his smarmy "all you'll be able to do is put money into my account" only for someone to set him up with a direct debit straight to charity.

Clarkson knows what he is though and plays on the fact that 50% of people wouldn't mind seeing him dead

The Sun not only misquoted me completely but made me sound a bit of a twat as well. I reported an issue to a local paper some years ago and they did a pretty decent job reporting the facts. Then the Sun got the story, altered it completely and turned the whole thing into a load of rubbish. Following that The People went even further and not only took the piss but nothing of the original story was reported at all. National papers like these get away with bad reporting every day and there isnt anything any ordinary person can do about it. The rich with huge bank accounts and good lawyers are the only ones able to sue and force the paper into writing an apology. The broadsheets may be depressing and a little boring but they do tend to print the facts as accurately as possible. People are judged rightly or wrongly by the papers they read because rather like the company they keep it indicates to others their character and their level of intelligence. Sadly though many Sun/Mirror/Mail readers often only buy those papers purely for the sport pages and little else but they are still classed as tabloid readers. Womens mags are just as bad printing sensational stories about all sorts of misery. Why do people buy them? They used to contain recipes and knitting patterns but not any more, thats too tame. British society has become quite sick with a huge thirst for malicious gossip and people slagging each other off.

Funnily enough, My girlfriend just served Jeremy Clarkson and his wife in the boutique she works in, and she said he was a right miserable shit, and that he is even jowlier in real life than on TV.
