Witter v Hatton

OK, i know this topic has been done to death, but i just had a thought....
Witter wins his eliminator and gets his re-match with Bradley. He reclaims the WBC belt.
Hatton loses to the Pacman in May. In my view if this happens Hatton will not have many options, He can either retire, move up to WW or still piss around at LW. The former is the most likely, but i don't think he wants to do this, leaving Witter the only real option at LW.
This isn't about who'd win, it's about could it happen if Hatton is backed into a corner with not many options ?

He'd have to retire then as there'd be no options unl;ess he takes on someone like Diaz / Marquez but the public won't be interested.

Witter won't get Alexander until at least May (purse bid in Feb, I think), Bradley maybe agrees to a rematch early 2010 - maybe farewell Hatton fight summer 2010? Doubt it, though

It is actually quite possible that Witter will be the unified WBC/WBO Champion by the end of the year; as Bradley and Holt are set to unify and Witter is likely to be the winner's mandatory.
In that situation it could be an appealing fight for Hatton, if he loses or can't get a superfight with Mayweather, Margarito etc.

I thought this was dead
The only time Witter would have been suitable for Hatton is when he fought Lazcano. Other than then, Witter was never an attractive fight. He beat up on guys with horrible records for most of his career, then made the step up in 05, but Hatton had already moved on by then.
Why would ANYONE want that fight now? Witter can't fight 12 hard rounds anymore. People were calling him a 5 round fighter back in 05 and he's slipped a bit since then even.

He'd then probably fight Khan at Light Welterweight.

Even if Witter knocked out ten world class fighters in 2009, it ain't happening because - as has been proved yet again - the main motivating factor for Hatton, like Calzaghe, is MONEY.

i thought only one title was on line - bradleys and the fight was just for presteige about whos the second best at lw
