Theory; if a boxer argues that the knockdown was a slip, should the fighter be allowed to appeal to a video replay.

If the replay deems that it was indeed a knockdown, the fighter is docked another point as a penalty (similar to the NFL rule). The fighter is only allowed to appeal a limited number of time(s) in a fight.

Is this a shittiest idea since the C5 because it slows down the fight, giving the knocked down fighter an advantage, or allows the fight to be scored correctly?

This may be controversial but IMO fighters shouldn't lose points for knockdowns so therefore if you slip or get knocked down then it doesn't matter because you're not going to lose any points for it.

they should get rid of those stupid advertising triangles that are on the ring edge, they have caused a few slips in the past.

Not a good idea. A few years ago I was photographing from ringside, when a knock down happened right above me, just before the bell. The knock down was not called, and the replays did not show the punch, so the commentators agreed to a slip. From my low position at ringside, I clearly saw a short perfect left hook right on the jaw, and so did several others around me.

It should just be left up to the referees judgement. The referees performance should be reviewed annually and any bad eggs thrown out.

If these protests were allowed to take place in a middle of a round, it would be a disaster for boxing and could be manipulated in many ways. ie giving the boxer just knocked down a breather or time to clear the head.

If a video replay viewed during the minute break showed a slip rather than a clean knockdown, maybe it wouldn't be so bad if a judges/referees scorecard was then adjusted accordingly. This wouldn't affect the pace of the fight.

I still say leave it the way it is though.

what about using the drip tray things they used at the Olympics? Might stop the water getting onto the canvas, we'll never stop the blood spilage mind.

I agree with the ring ad's they need to be placed and fixed further back (so camera men dont push them in) or removed completely.

Did a controvesial KD cost Victor Polo the world title against Chacon? He was robbed anyway but would have had it with the judges had the ref ruled a slip correctly?

I'm sure something like this happend.

Maybe it could be done for the break between rounds a TV reply.... but not during the fight.

I was going to say that. If video replays happen, they should be after the round so they don't interrupt the flow of the fight.
