My manager wants to know what Boxrec is

Well it had to happen, i was called into my bosses office today and asked "Ian, what is Boxrec?"
Apparently i've been spending far to much time looking at this site, and contributing posts.

But being the civil service i never got a bollocking, just told i can look at it during my lunch.
Which usually lasts for a good hour anyway.

Anyone else been pulled up for their 'Boxrec Addiction'?

No not yet, but the alt+tab keys are wore out on my keyboard. I'm changing jobs soon though so things could change dramatically

Last friday I had to print a report out in colour so had to send it to my bosses printer. Then on Monday morning when I printed out a whole heap of articles from BBN and eastside boxing - guess where I sent them......

5 minutes later, a very unhappy looking boss comes into my office with a bundle of boxing articles, dumps them on my desk and said "I think you should change your printer back to your one to avoid getting caught doing this in future. If you have enough time to be doing this at work, I cant wait to see what else you have done this week"

Needless to say - it didn't go down to well, particularly because he hates all kind of sport

its not all bad news for me though, i am actually at my 2nd job now, and can access Boxrec all i want.
Maybe as a youth project worker i should be keeping an eye on what they are all up to, but i'm sure a bunch of 16-24 year olds would behave themselves on a Friday night!!

I monitor the interent in our place and to be honest no one give a hoot what we look at so long as the work is done. Though i try not to DL fights of stream them when on the 3G mobile USB interent

We did have one member of staff that asked for a laptop over xmas, her reason was so she could update here Blog while the office was closed as she normally does it between 10-11am lol. Better than that we gave her the spare to use over xmas.

I have to say my bosses are very good with my love of the sport and dont worry about interent access or the amount of time I spend on the mobile sortting out fight/flights/accom etc. They do get a little free advertising out of it as well tho.

i just have half the screen as a word document and half as the forum and pretend to be thoughtfully studying/transcribing from the left hand side of the screen. plus im the boss of my editorial team and the general manager is sat in his own room on the other side of the office.

I ended up in a disciplinary and had a six month verbal warning.

That's now expired.

Is that a Stanner lift?

As Brian Potter would say, when stuck on the Stairlift "What would Thora Hird do?"
