Going to be interesting over the next few years with their pro' paths set to run simultaneously. Did'nt Price semi-own Fury in Tyson's own backyard in the am's? Some decent hype already in place for when/if, their paid careers pick up some steam. 'Manc'/Scouse, bitter amateur rivals abetted by calls of favouritism etc. Both with promoters who in the main, match their stable handily. Can only be good for the UK scene if things pan out.

I agree, but I fear that if Fury stops his next couple of opponents, we might be hearing about press releases comparing Tyson and Tyson.

Ellis wasn't orginally Hennessy, though, I don't think. There was a promotor from liverpool, also loooked after Shay Neary, did some WBU fights in the early WBU days. I think he was Ellis' promoter.

Well Hennessey is a promoter, so i'm guessing hyping the boxers up, or 'Promoting' them is what he's supposed to do!!

Where would we be if he told the truth about his boxers all the time.

By his own admission Fury hasnt got the stamina yet. What if he finds he is in a 10 rounder in the next couple of fights and cant get his opponent out of there. He could find himself in a Haye/Thompson situation and lose his first fight completely knackered.

If anything they would be the other way round. Price stayed amateur longer and won a major bronze medal, Fury turned pro too young rather than wait four years for an Olympics (although he did at least go to one).

yeah but every promoter has a heavyweight pretender at some point. Danny Williams was the next big thing - just needed more confidence and lose a couple of stone - ...

if the fihgter turns out to be less than advertised, at least it helps them sell tickets before all goes timber

It wold probably help if his next two shows did not clash with Warren's. His guys will thus get ignored.

Pricey's gone with Hayemaker.

Two prospects turning over at roughly the same time, each with potential, has to be a good thing.

What I'm not looking forward to is the usual shite "we offered Fury/Price £50k for the fight and they turned it down flat" etc etc etc etc.

Maybe I'm being harsh on Hennessy and Hayemaker, but we know for definite this would be the case if Fury and Price were with SN or Matchroom.

Price was caught In the commonwealths too by timed hooks I think It was.

If you get caught in the amateurs, you can't hold. Learn different tricks in the pros and you get more time to work your way back into a fight. Look what happened to Riddick Bowe in an Olympic final, wouldn't call him chinny or exposed. Price is 25, young or a heavyweight, with tons of international experience. He could be a huge star. We won't know about his punch resistance truly for years.
